    That's because he had a lot of them as they came through the system. I think he has shown he can handle Sox job.

    Masa has always hit; the issue is the lack of power from the DH. Because of the lack of power as a team, the Sox can't have a DH that can't supply the power needed.

    Since both 2B and SS are a need for Sox my interest is peeked by Neto. Right-handed power from the middle infield. It all depends on the Angel's asking price.

    No, we already have a SS that is pass his prime.

    It would start with Anthony and Early plus others to get Witt. Investing that much on one player never made sense to me. Look at the Mets and Soto. As great of a hitter he is, he is going to be a full-time DH before he is 30.

    Agree! Why would Sox trade Whitlock if they are currently 1/2 game out of the last wild card. They should be adding a right-handed bat (The one we should have got during last off season).

    Only because of a weak AL that the Sox have a chance of still making the playoffs after the disaster of the first two months of the season.

    The way it is playing out it looks like a good salary dump. He was eventually going to be a fulltime DH with that contract. But wasn't the money saved supposed to be reinvested in the 2026 team?

    I don't think you could have asked for more in Sandoval's first game back. He will be needed with the health issues that the staff currently have!

    The Sox have received contender pitching during this recent streak. This without Crochet. A healthy Crochet added to the current staff is as good as pitching in the AL. Strong defense and an average offense and they can be contenders in a VERY WEAK AL. Need to get healthy though! A lot of important pieces are out of action now.

    Will be lucky to take 2 out 3 this weekend. Do we even know the plan for Saturday? Tolle on four days rest on Sunday? As well as the Sox are playing this break is coming at a good time! Without Contreras the team will struggle to score runs (Yesterday is a perfect example). Pitching, defense, and average offense has been the key to the recent streak! Need another big game from Gray on Friday. Hold the Mets down and go deep into the game to save the pen for the weekend because they will be needed both days.

    Bregman HR-7 RBI-30 AVG-.240 OPS-.681 Durbin HR-7 RBI-36 AVG-.229 OPS-.673 Both have played solid D, but their offensive numbers are pretty even! And Durbin is doing it for a lot less money and is younger. I do think the younger Sox players miss the Bregman voice in the clubhouse. Overall, I still want Durbin to keep this up. Plus, used the saved money for right-handed power bat.

    Breslow's failure to bring in right-handed power last winter remains the major problem with this team! They have not taken advantage of quality starting pitched games and lost games that they should have won. They get behind by 3 or more runs the game is over.

    Agree! It's over a year now that Campbell was sent down. You look at his numbers and man, they are so not a player ready to get back to the SHOW!

    Early got the dreaded, "He shouldn't be out too long"! We heard this about Crochet, about Anthony, and so on and so on!

    He has been so up and down that I don't know would the Sox would get for him in a trade!

    Durbin's homerun shocked the Schlitt out of him!

    Slaton has not looked the same since he returned from his injury. The Sox should have been 5-1 on that last road trip, but the bullpen blew two games against the Rockies!

    I think the Yankees D played a big role in the Sox win last night! Contreras shot between the third basemen's legs should have been a double play and no Sox rally. I'll give them credit that they took advantage of that play and put a 4 spot up!

    Agree! He has been the most consistent bat over the last few weeks, but I have to see more. Last night's home run to put the Sox ahead would not have happened a month ago.

    No! Team needs right-handed power, and you trade the only right-handed power bat we have? If we had two more right-handed hitters with at least 10 home runs, with the pitching and D we have received, we would be in one of the playoff spots in the weak American League!

    When he is good keeping the ball down, he is good, but when he is bad it's like he is pitching batting practice!

    Same need that they had last off season! Lack of power continues to be the Sox problem. Last night they had runners on every inning but didn't score! If in one of those innings someone ran into one you have a whole different ballgame! The offense is hard to watch! Never thought I would say that about a Red Sox team!

    A team that plays half their games at Fenway this can't be! Last night they had runners on base every inning and didn't score! At Fenway! Still lack right-handed power and they can't get a big hit when needed!

    You play half of your games at Fenway Park and you are last in the league in home runs! That can't happen if you plan on winning anything! As it stands now if they fall behind by 3 runs they can't win that game. A Red Sox team that can't come from behind by three runs! Before the 2027 season that has to be corrected.
