  1. I just became aware of these nuggets and I had to put them up for fun.
  2. Porcello is just the 3rd pitcher since 1900 to have 10 wins in each of his first 6 seasons, and the fastest to 80 career wins since Bert Blyleven.
  3. Our next 10 games are against the Birds, Rays and Jays, 3 teams that have been beating us up. If we can win 6 or 7 of these games there will be some hope. If we lose 6 or more we will look like toast.
  4. I think he has it in him to be one of the best pitchers in baseball for the next 5 years. I'd really hate to see him do it for another team after all they've invested in him.
  5. 700, I think you need to give some consideration to how many of those innings were accumulated at an age when most pitchers are in the minors.
  6. I am not in the camp that wants to trade Buchholz.
  7. And right on cue, Ranaudo pitches 6.1 scoreless on Friday night.
  8. There's always an explanation - we just don't know what it is. In Porcello's case, he's had a lot of change. New team, 2 new pitching coaches, 3 new catchers, and undoubtedly a lot more pressure than he's ever felt, especially with the $83.5 million extension. What I'm really worried about is what UserName has mentioned about them tinkering with his approach to make him more of a strikeout pitcher.
  9. That'd be Judge Reinhold, who was Billy in Beverly Hills Cop. Not to be confused with Judd Nelson, who was part of the Brat Pack in movies like St. Elmo's Fire and The Breakfast Club.
  10. Nick Green is the man then. Anybody that can call something like that has a bright future in sports media.
  11. Sure, but we need both of those guys - they've been our 2 best hitters.
  12. Pedroia on the DL - that's all we need in this season from hell.
  13. Farrell has to go. Kick him upstairs. Hire Ron Gardenhire (?). Do something. The culture of losing is settling in big time.
  14. Personally I think it's a pretty f***ed-up event all the way around, including that damn Home Run Derby. If 8 Royals are starters that will seal the deal.
  15. The pitching staff - it's hard for me to say if these guys are underperforming significantly or if this is what they are. I do think your point about them f***ing with Porcello seems to have merit. The others I just don't know. The whole thing really is an enigma, and I'm not saying that to be a smartass.
  16. This is kind of a shaky assertion to me though...which particular players are significantly underachieving in a way that is difficult to explain? Pedroia, Bogaerts, Holt and Betts are playing well. Ortiz and Napoli may just have hit the wall career-wise. Hanley and Panda's offensive numbers are not that far off career numbers/trends. Etc.
  17. Nice work Station.
  18. Kimmi, I always enjoy your posts and I love your attitude. Whatever you do don't get put off by the negativity you're seeing here right now. I've been saying a lot of negative things myself, that's for sure. I like to think of myself as a realist. The fact is that our team is 30 games under .500 since the start of 2014, despite all of our obvious resources. As Sox fans we've never been through anything like us, even us older ones, who have seen some very bad teams, but not ones who had such apparent advantages in payroll and supposed analytical expertise. All of us here want the team to turn it around somehow.
  19. That ain't good.
  20. If Mookie had homered we'd have two guys hit for the cycle today.
  21. Cycle for Brockstar.
  22. My objection would be on behalf of Postseason Panda.
  23. We're a hittin' machine today!
