  1. Panda-Hanley effort & attitude issues seem to me like one more bad reflection on Farrell as a manager.
  2. It's like the team got together over the break and agreed that they hadn't been doing enough to get Farrell fired.
  3. The only problem with the thread is that iortiz overlooked the fact that the 2012 rotation was the worst in franchise history.
  4. I still keep him, for the sole reason that we have so little else in actual major league caliber pitching talent on our roster.
  5. God love ya, man. I don't know how you can do it. I've been reduced to occasional check-ins on Gameday.
  6. Kershaw's deal isn't really the benchmark because he was much younger. Scherzer's deal is more like the benchmark for Price, although the structure of Scherzer's deal makes it a little more confusing to calculate. Lester's deal can be used as a benchmark, bumped up by around 10% for Price's better numbers. I'd guess 6 years at 28 million.
  7. Is there anybody here who has watched all of the Sox games since the break in their entirety?
  8. Yes, it's just about time to stop f***ing around. Time for Joe Kelly to show this pitching staff the way out of the ashes.
  9. Thanks...I seem to have a knack for gallows humor.
  10. One thing that doesn't get as much attention as the rotation choices is that nothing was done to strengthen the bullpen either.
  11. Kimmi, it's kind of frightening to think that this nightmarish season was the result of a good plan. I'd hate to see a bad one.
  12. He did have a good foundation. But the team he inherited had missed the playoffs 3 years in a row and had won exactly one playoff series under Duquette. In the 9 years Theo was GM our worst season was 86-76, and we know all the rest. He was a hugely successful GM in his own right.
  13. I know what you're saying. But we're talking about a team that got shut out the previous two games benching the guy with the highest OBP on the team for a doubleheader. You're right that it didn't matter much. That just shows what a clusterf*** it's become.
  14. I'm now of the belief that Farrell's brain is completely fried.
  15. Yeah this is beyond f***ed-up now. Farrell has officially melted down.
  16. So Hamels has had 2 horrific starts in a row, and Cueto looked today like there might be something wrong with his arm.
  17. Of course he's concerned about his financial status for next year. That's only normal human behavior. I don't see anything to hate on Buchholz about this year. He pitched very well, he was going deep in games, then he injured his elbow.
  18. Buchholz is a flake, no question. But for a 30-year old pitcher with no 2016 contract, being concerned about the health of his pitching elbow doesn't really make him a wimp.
  19. Anybody But the Yankees.
  20. Looks like it's just about time to pull out the ABY cap.
  21. As User Name has pointed out a few times, this is what bad teams do - you lose 8-6 one game, 1-0 the next game. That we managed to do it with the same guy on the mound just adds a little extra twist with the knife.
  22. This will be Miley's 4th start in our last 10 games. When you have a stud hoss you have to ride them.
  23. The Yanks bullpen has been a big part of their success, I think.
