  1. Britton seems like a good gamble considering his history. Which means multiple teams are in on him.
  2. I think there are more options than dumping all over everything or being a sophomore cheerleader. I think there's some middle ground in between there.
  3. You are really not a Thornburg fan LOL I'm a little surprised to see you give up on a player so quick.
  4. This year 2124 Last year 2311 Diff -187 8.1%
  5. Like I said it was sloppy phrasing. We won a World Series while he was GM. That's all I meant. I thought that should be obvious.
  6. Yeah sure, let's just throw the stats out the window. What do numbers mean in baseball?
  7. Barnes is having a fine season, with a 2.30 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. Workman has been outstanding. Fans have unrealistic expectations.
  8. Gibson has Parkinson's Disease.
  9. Jeez, thanks for the correction, cp. I apologize for my sloppy phrasing.
  10. I've been checking out a Yankee fan forum (always fun at times like this), and Boone is really taking a pounding.
  11. For me it's got nothing to do with Lowrie. It's got to do with bad results for Melancon. I can agree that it seemed like a good trade on paper, but the results stunk for one reason or other. Ben may have given up on Melancon too quickly as well.
  12. That's true. You have to credit Hembree and Barnes with getting 5 outs as well.
  13. If he stays healthy, there's a good chance he can do what you said from here until 2022. He's got the ability and the experience.
  14. I get it, up to a point. He did win a World Series after all. And he built up a good farm. I have already voiced my criticisms of him plenty of times.
  15. With ERA, I think it would be fair to throw out the worst 2 games, but you probably also have to throw out the 2 best if you're going to do that. Oddly enough both Porcello and Lester were charged with 8 runs in their most recent game. Each saw their ERA go up about 55 points.
  16. I don't hate on him, I'm more like 'fingers crossed' when he pitches, regarding his health and effectiveness. Last night was great news on both counts.
  17. Do you hate that 2013 trade worse than the Bagwell trade?
  18. ??? If this was Ben's 5th best move it doesn't speak very well for him. Melancon had a -0.2 fWAR in a Red Sox uniform, then was traded to Pittsburgh for Hanrahan and had 3 excellent seasons for Pittsburgh.
  19. There's nothing about him being injured. I assume he'll be starting the 4th or 5th game out of the break.
  20. Probably his second-best move, after signing Koji.
  21. Like everything else, *******s fall into different categories. There are harmless *******s, and there are heavily armed *******s.
  22. I think I read somewhere that there are more guns than people in Texas.
  23. It's a reasonable idea, but Herrera's numbers have actually been quite erratic the last 2 seasons. He has pitched like crap since the trade to Washington. It's only 10.2 innings, but it's something to keep an eye on.
  24. It's a non-starter all around. Keep trying, though, folks.
  25. No way in hell MLB would allow such a blatantly obvious attempt to circumvent the tax. Any team with tax issues with a player who suffers a long-term injury or just stops being good would be able to try the same stunt.
