  1. The jury is still out on both of these signings IMHO
  2. But who would want to?
  3. If the Yankees are done after this I think it would be quite acceptable for us...not sure they're done though.
  4. You might be speaking a bit too soon on that. Cashman will be adding a starter. As for Britton, I think the Yankees are concerned about Chapman's health.
  5. It is kind of sick IMO, as are many of the elective surgeries you're referencing IMO.
  6. Possibly, but it was Kimbrel who gave it up in the 4th game.
  7. Just to be clear, Pedroia turns 35 on August 17.
  8. I'm just gonna take a stab here without looking it up. I think the only games that get resumed are ones that have gone 5 innings and are tied-or the visiting team has gone ahead in their half of the inning when the game is stopped.
  9. I think the big wide bulky body is largely responsible. And there's not much he can do about it, it's just his body type.
  10. It really does seem like a royal pooch-screwing considering the forecast.
  11. Well now we've got some pretty divergent opinions on whose fault the injury was. I just watched the replay a few times. One thing I notice is that Swihart was about 3/4 of the way between first and second by the team he releases the ball, making it a tough play for everyone. The throw was definitely behind E-Rod, causing him to turn and slow down. The third is that the Jays runner slides through the base and to the right and is laid out there with his legs sticking up behind him, forcing E-Rod to make a pretty long jump to clear him. He almost made it but not quite.
  12. Even if the wild card team has the second-best record. Yeah, this new system is so much fairer.
  13. That's easier said than done. People have tickets that say 7 PM and they might not be able to get to the park earlier.
  14. Offensive stats of catchers are easy to compare. The defensive side of catching is much harder to compare. None of us are really qualified to do it.
  15. That rule was tossed out when they brought in the new Wild Card system. For example last year the Dodgers played the D'Backs in the first round.
  16. It's just random s***, seriously.
  17. Those words are even sweeter when you hear them this early in the day.
  18. It was a bad toss by Swihart wasn't it?
  19. Plus the Rays bullpen has held the Yanks to 1 run through 7 anyway.
  20. You guys are overthinking it. If Eovaldi pitched today we couldn't use him until July 30. We need him before that I think.
  21. I think he did about as well as you could ask under the circumstances.
