I think he would have, yes-if he was guaranteed to be the everyday third baseman.

I would agree, but I would guess that in most cases prospects were being asked for. With Beltre, there was a story about this on MLBTR and that the Red Sox did have some talks with the Rangers about him, that his no-trade clause might be an issue etc.

We don't have any starters with a good playoff track record. I highly doubt they're thinking about Price to the bullpen at this point. I imagine what they're hoping is for him to change the storyline.

Who hasn't pitched since the ASG-Sale? The ASG was way back on July 17. Sale has had 2 starts since then.

You said it's a bullpen game now, so this is an instant goalpost move. Sale, Price and Porcello are all capable of going deep when they're right.

On the same day Sale hits the DL with shoulder issue, Bogey gets hit in the hand, the same place as last year that ruined his season. Showing once again how quickly stuff can go sideways.
