I’ve actually seen that.  It was probably 50 years ago, but there was one speedster (long have forgotten his name) who was really good at bunting and occasionally he would actually bunt one over the 3rd baseman’s head and get to second before anyone could make a play.

It's been done by slow oafish left-handers as well, when presented with an extreme shift.

Rick Miller was the last Red Sox to do it in 1981, I believe. Cano did it against the Sox in 2013. Players like Rafael Furcal and Juan Pierre have done it multiple times.

You'd think the Sox would want to use their back-end guys to sew this one up -- ya know, get that winning feeling back on what may be the final day of the regular season.

I know: resting arms... but some relievers do like to stay sharp. And bringing in a guy just up from the minors is almost like they're... nah. Front office is too smart.
