Chapman has not pitched all week.

Probably needed a break physically   but tells you a lot about the team's results

Sonny will need to be at his best, and hopefully can go deep into the game.

No Whitlock and a shaky Chapman turns the Sox strength of a pen into a big question mark.

Others who have been doing well most of the year have begun to struggle. OPSA last 28 days:

.425 Whitlock (hurt)

.468 Slaten but .646 last 2 weeks

.503 Bello (.492/2 wks)

.541 TGuerrero (.599/2 wks)

.551 Miller (same)

.649 Gamboa (n/a)

.724 Weissert (.630/2 wks)

.731 Chapman (.891 implosion)

.795 Moran (.596/2wks is surprising to me)

Duarn still up 7th. 😒

Yoshida leading off.

Rafaela back in the line-up and the 2 slot.

Rut is up third.

Contreras and Abreu 4-5.

Durbin 6th.

Black hole up 7th, followed by Monasterio and Sogard,

We helped light a fire under the Jays, but at least they beat the Yanks.

The Rays have been on fire and play the O's at home.

The CWS beat the Tigers. The Jays jumped into the #3 WC slot, and MIN & TEX are tied with DET, pending their games tonight.

Why do they Sox bother coming to the plate in the 1st inning ?

Why do they swing at and K on eye high FBs ?

Plate discipline and pitch/count situations  have always been an issue. But seems to have adapted quickly to the Red Sox way

Joshua Baez hit 3 homers today in his MLB debut. First time in history. He grew up the in Boston area right under Chaim Bloom's nose. Bloom drafted Marcelo Mayer and Jud Fabian (who the Red Sox couldn't sign) ahead of him. Brilliant.

Durbin caught leaning and Duran's predictable K ends any thoughts of a rally

Durbin’s got that little hop.  If a pitcher can time it, he’s easy pickings.

Before we fit Baez for his plaque in Cooperstown, how about we see how his second game goes.

Duran with 2 strikes is hopeless, as he will swing at anything , and chases outside of the zone without fail.

I read that Anthony will soon start his rehab assignment. I’ll believe it when I see it but if he can make it back soon Duran is toast. Can’t happen soon enough

Abreu now over .800.

Durbin has been on a steady rise and is over .730.

Duran has been very consistent, lately- never going to far from .614.

Yoshida settles the roster crowding with a hammie ?

Insures Duran's position in the lineup

I think Rutschman got rushed back with minimal BP. He is truly overmatched right now

5 consecutive Ks, no clue. Try Wong for a game before he gets too cold.
