Hopefully we won’t need to see him in a Boston uniform again. They are off tomorrow

Do we have to wait to the deadline to trade him?

Is Rafaela out next Mookie Betts? Kid has the potential to be a legit 5 tool player. His major opportunity was his discipline at plate. Seems he has been doing better lately.

If Bennett gets through five we have an excellent chance to sweep the Dodgers

Bennett held them in 4th, should get up to 6 from him

A sweep of LADodgers in LA,  whatcha smoking ,dude?

To all the posters, especially the older ones like myself, enjoy the hell out of this while it lasts because you'll never see anything like this again.

Right now, I would rather have Cedanne than a Mookie

No.

He reminds him a lot especially in this ridiculous stretch. Elite glove and arm, speed, hitting and power. Also and not the least he can hit in clutch moments.

This is moneyball stuff at its finest.

Sure, he’s hot for this stretch. Mookie was great for years.

For too many years this team would have a good first half then crash in August and September. I don’t think that will happen this year.

Both are controlled to 2032.

I agree.

Abreu's RHP/LHP stats make little sense. Anyone care to explain?

Maybe they should let him hit lefties from day one.

True, but who would you rather have from right now to 2032?

Money aside.

Agreed.

Mostly because it’s too late to have a good first half…

His glove, arm and speed won’t regress, if anything, going to be better. The 1 M question is whether his bat can be consistent moving forward. Clearly he’s entering into his prime. IMO his better years are yet to come. Time will though.

I think it was because previous teams depended too much on bashing the ball but lacked good pitching

This sounds like a SNL sketch for Da Bears.  ("Den let's say a mini-Ditka vs. ...")
