An Angels pitcher who has a bad ERA and a name I don't recognize. The most Angels thing I can imagine, this is their identity.

Please don’t be one of those nights when we take the field vs a 5 ERA pitcher and make them look like a Cy Young Candidate. 🙏

Maybe you should watch more baseball.  Aldegheri has been on the team up and down the last couple of years.  He pitched well enough vs the A's on Sunday to get a win, 5 innings, 1 run (day time).  Nothing screams 4th of July better than having your starting pitcher born and raised in Italy.  Pace.

1. Seigler 2B (Revolving door at the 1 slot)

2. Rafaela CF (Steady as anyone)

3. Abreu RF (Time to wake up the echoes)

4. Contreras 1B (Our only bopper)

5. Durbin 3B (Up to the 5 slot v the lefty)

6. Romy DH (Great vs lefties for a couple years)

7. Duran LF (7th vs the lefty, but maybe he stays here v R, too.)

8. Monasterio SS (Not many SS options)

9. Wong C (Better than Narvaez at the plate)

The lead-off slot has been a major thorn in the side of the Sox offense. While the lack of a second big bopper has gotten much of the attention, the .293 OBP from our 1 slot has been hideous.

We've had seven different players placed in the one slot of the line-up card.

OBP/SLG

42 Duran .269/.409 (Killed us)

22 Anthony .347/.274 (Sad SLG but best OBP)

7 Gasper .250/.240 (worse than Duran)

5 Yoshida .350/.526 (SSS but the best on the team up #1)

4 Eaton .300/.294 (better than many)

4 Seigler .176/.188 (Yuk-a-doodle-doo!)

2 Rafaela .400/.556 (Tiny sample size)

The key modern day slot is the #2 slot. Here are the numbers: .672 OPS as a team.

GS (OBP/SLG)

38 Rafaela .302/.407

18 Contreras .372/.484

9 Story .119/.214 (horrible)

8 Gasper .294/.281 (What were we thinking?)

5 Durbin .304/.211

4 Monasterio .400/.471

3 Yoshida .357/.250

1 Duran .250/.000

The 3 slot at .724 has been better but still lacking:

55 Abreu .699 OPS

10 Duran .718

8 Yoshida .570

7 Anthony .690

5 Contreras 1.369

1 Gasper .833

Thanks to Willson, our 4 slot has been okay:

60 Contreras .891

10 Abreu .615

10 Story .530

5 Yoshida .697

1 Rafaela .000

Abreu has done very well batting 5th (1.061,) so it's too bad we have needed to bat him 3rd or 4th too often. Had we had a second big bat, maybe he'd have a better year.

SEA beat TOR 11-0 and TEX lost to DET 3-0, so SEA now leads the ALW and TEX at 45-44 holds the final WC slot. The CWS are currently the 2nd WC team at 45-42, but you have to wonder if they can hold onto a playoff slot. (I wonder about TEX, too.)

The Twins beat the Yanks 11-4, and it's always nice to see the Yanks lose, but MIN is a team we have a better chance at passing.

Here are the WC standings before tonight's games:

+4.5 NYY

+1.0 CWS (at CLE)

--- TEX

-2.5 MIN

-2.5 HOU (v TBR)

-3.0 TOR

-3.5 ATH (v MIA)

-4.0 BAL (at CIN)

-5.5 BOS (at LAA)

-6.0 DET

Just informed by the Angels' booth that Seigler can throw a baseball equally well from either arm. Did not know that and had never heard about a player who could do that.

Too bad he's not a pitcher.

Are you suggesting I should watch the angels more? Because I watch hundreds of games a year, I just avoid bad, boring teams

Also, it’s funny that you’re telling me to watch more baseball but you had to post Aldegheri’s name into your post to get the right spelling.

The oft injured Trout was voted into his 12th ASG, but it's very unlikely he'll ever play in the WS.

He'll have some HOF company though. Ernie Banks, Ken Griffey, Jr and Ichiro.

I think they said one arm is stronger than the other but I can’t remember which one.

He should wear a glove on both hands, and drop one when he fields with the other.

7-2 in their last 9.

Will Boston even be selling?

This is exactly how I’d expect Boston to play to play their way back to buyers.

but as of right now they still have the 4th worse record in the A.L.  They have to go 7-2 in their next nine….and look healthy
