A CY runner up last yes, but the here, and now he’s imitating Frail Sale after just 1 year of a heavy workload. Who couldn’t see that coming?🤔

We know you didn’t.

Sorry, but i questioned more than once on here this past offseason if the first time heavy workload for Crochet would have any affect on him this year. You?🤔

I mean it depends on who he gets in return. If he got a proven bat, then you’d hear no such things from me. But if it’s Durbin for Harrison, or Dustin May for James Tibbs. Then yes I might still b*tch about Breslow.

Well, nobody is waiting to see what Durbin gives us over 5 years to bash that trade, so I'm taking this as a yes.

No! no one is waiting 5 years to bash anything. Here, and now is one thing, and a final thumbs up, or thumbs down is quite another.

This BTV trade suggestion seems to be favored by more people than disfavored:

Duran & Chapman to SEA

for

Michael Arroyo & Eduard Bazardo

Your thoughts?

I'm not sure about giving up Chapman for just this.

Would SEA give Arroyo for Duran?

95% of the regulars on the board were questioning all last year, starting in spring training.  Is it a legit concern? Absolutely. Are you the only one to make it?  Not even close.  If anything, you were late to the party…

My take on Arroyo is Seattle fans are divided on him.   Most love his power, but his contact skills remain in question.  But as he is 21 and already in AA, I assume Seattle holds him abd gives him time…

I don't know enough about Arroyo to give it a thumbs up or down.

I'd like more proven assets, but deadline trades are usually proven players for prospects.

i can see why they're divided. i've seen Arroyo play ever single home game that he's played in AA. in person. i'm sorta lukewarm on him. he has Caleb Durbin power (10-15 a year), his bat is averageish, his glove is decent, and slightly better than average speed. he started out at 2B, and still plays there some, but they've had him in LF most recently. he doesn't have the range or arm for SS. most of all, what i have a problem with, is his attitude. he has, hands down, the worst attitude on the entire team. he's just the opposite of his best buddy  -Lazaro Montes. Kade Anderson is the one player they have, i'd love to see in a Red Sox uniform. that kid is the real deal.

to sum it up, Arroyo is meh. not terrible, not great.

That’s our best report on him…

Duran has an OPS of .451 in June with 1 extra base hit since June 1.

Case for trading Duran?  What team is going to want him over any other available corner OF?

I'm so done with Duran. It's a shame we didn't trade him at his peak, or shortly afterwards.

That game-ending play, last night seemed to symbolize who he is.

i know you hate him, but how he played the ball at the end had nothing to do with the loss. and i'm sure every visiting ballplayer is supposed to know the way the ball plays in every corner of park, right?  the fact is: the winning run would have scored, even if he somehow played it perfectly.

You’re blaming Duran for that game ending play last night? I’ve seen the gold glover in RF boot the ball around more that once.

Bingo! 100%. MOOn turns on players on a whim. It was Devers Forevers for years, and don’t forget Masa for Mayor.

Even if he did, there were no outs and Chapman wasn’t Chapman..

Dropping Judge’s line drive last year was much, much worse…

3 runs probably score, anyway, yes, but he still botched the play. That symbolized how he plays, to be. Too many base-running and defensive botches. Inconsistent batting. Saying inappropriate things to fans. Not making the trip to Toronto during COVID.

It all adds up for me.

I don't hate him. IMO, we had 4 OF'ers with Yoshida as depth. We should have traded him when his value was higher.

I wasn't for just handing him away. My suggested trade offers were for real talent in return, not like others who said "Trade him for prospects."

You mean your BTV suggested trades that never happen? It sounds like Hate to me.

You don't want to trade for a headcase that is in a career freefall?

Right here! Right now!  All that matters! That’s why that Christian Vazquez trade got bashed so harshly (which it did at first).

Exactly what team will be at the deadline thinking “you know what this team REALLY NEEDS? A head case amidst a career free fall!!”

It wouldn't have won the game, but he played that ball like Bello approaches the 1st inning.

With two more years of control at a reasonable rate Duran will have plenty of suitors for his services. Bad start but overall he’s a good ball player that a lot of teams would love to have.

But for what?

Normally thats a good combination but he had more control last off-season, was shopped around, and is still here…

He was asking too much.
