Coulombe distiguishes himself and trashes Tolle's short but effective outing.

How many inheriteds does Weissert get stung with this time?

Weissert’s not that good, but he never seems to come into a clean inning. OTOH, 0-2 and then never threw another competitive pitch to little Yaz.

Weissert can stay in from here on out.  I sometimes wonder if he’s a Yankee plant.

This team is so bad. Sell off the veteran parts asap and try to get as many prospects as possible. Then fire Breslow and the entire FO and get somebody in there (Theo?) who knows what they are doing. The fans have to stop going to the park to watch this crap.

If the definition of insanity is to keep repeating the same mistake and expecting different results, how many insane front office analysts have kept Weissert around the past two years so TWO insane Red Sox managers can keep bringing him with guys on base?

It has to be hard to lead baseball in inherited runners allowed for two straight seasons... because if a reliever is that bad the first year, how can he keep his job in the second?

Nice walk loser….. I’m sorry but why not bring in Slaten or even Chapman at this point like you can tell the game is on the line do something right Tracy you dipsh**

You are asking too much. They are an inept team especially at coaching and FO.

I send Weissert back out again.  Why waste 2-3 more pitchers today.

I know nothing about baseball.  and I can clearly see. Weissert sucks balls with inherited runners if that’s his role to be high leverage and he’s terrible at it DFA’s his ass. But I think this one is on Tracy , dude what did you expect??

Another lost series at Fenway

(1-7-1)

The BP which was effective early on now is back to Bullpen Roulette.

AC used to be a master at picking the wrong guy

Every time I see a grand slam, I’m reminded that Jim Palmer pitched 19 years in the big leagues and never allowed one.  He did allow one in the minors to some Reds prospect named Bench.

Understandably you hear nothing from Theo.  But love to know what his role really is and do they listen to him?

I guess he will be JHs go to guy when Brez gets relieved

Narvaez has regressed badly. Maybe last year was nothing but a fluke year. Gasper should take most of the load moving forward with Wong. Narvaez should be sent down. He’s completely lost at the plate.

It’s on Breslow and Bailey.  They are the common denominators through Weissert’s time in Boston.  As someone said, Cora kept using him in those situations too.

None of which changes my point that is send him back out for another inning or 2.  Again, why use 2 or 3 more pitchers to cover the last 3 innings, especially with a Bello game tomorrow in Cleveland.

Breslow's not off the hook. He keeps supplying a roster to his managers with Weissert on it.

But let's not let that distract us from the Theo Epstein files (named after the GM who always made sure he had BIG bats in the line-up).

Yes, the top four Sox batters have been decent lately. But the Number Five hitter has one home run for the season, whether it's Yoshida or Monasterio -- who struck out to end two rallies today when it still mattered.

Theo is not going to take a downgrade in position to GM or PBO level responsibilities.

Good thing Breslow paid Atlanta to take Sale for Grissom. Brilliant.

Grissom hit well in Atlanta and is getting on base in LAA often. He’s better than anybody here right now at 2B. He’s disciplined at plate with a good glove.

Agreed but it would be a great reprise and interesting to watch

NESN just showed the graphic with Boston leading the world in worst home record.

I dare them to replay for the thousandth time the ad where Crochet says, "It feels like we got something special here."

It's special all right. Specially bad and not really getting better in W-L terms

I missed the first half of the game. Turned it on just in time to see the grand salami.

Why was Tolle taken out so early. Pitch count?

Up the 90s but could have gotten the 3rd out to finish 5.

I would say special needs, but most major league teams have major league hitters in their major league batting orders.

Listening to the walk up songs of most of the Red Sox players I understand why they are so limited. Musical taste speaks volumes of a person. They literally listen to trash music.

Every reliever showing his wares today. A unique bunch or a bunch of eunuchs, i.e. no balls because they are all up in the stands as HR souvenirs
