Like the Red Sox, the Royals continue to struggle to score runs and play competitive baseball. There isn't a better target right now for the Sox to get back on track than the Royals.

Lugo last 4 starts:

7.59 ERA, 21.1 IP, 37 H, 18 K, 9 BB, 18 ER

Severe storms anticipated for this evening (chance of flooding, hail, tornado). Could impact the game!

4 - 7 p.m.: Super cell thunderstorms capable of large, strong tornadoes EF2+ and large hail in central Kansas.

7 - 9 p.m.: Individual thunderstorms start to form a line still capable of tornadoes and hail but out-flow straight-line winds 60 mph may start to occur in a line from Maryville, Missouri to Topeka.

9 p.m. - 1 a.m.: A line of storms with damaging wind and brief spin-ups moves into metro.

At some point, we need to start sweeping somebody or winning 4-5 series in a row.

I have seen no hint that is about to happen, but one never knows.

Red Sox were built like an AL Central team. This is their time to do it.

Yes, but ALL 7 teams ahead of them in the wildcard standings could say the same things, and do the same things.

KC had lost 6 in a row before winning yesterday, so they could be ripe for the picking. Of course KC could be saying the same thing about Boston.

Actually, this Sox offense was built for rainouts.

The word "built" has too nice a context.

They dismantled a decent 2025 offense.

They only moved it up 30 minutes. Its 6:10 CDT; that’s 7:10 Eastern

It’s Kansas.  A tornado only gets you 30 minutes…

Only 4 teams in the AL are above .500.

Maybe the Sox can make a trade with Houston, which has a worse record than the Sox.

At this point in the season the Sox are averaging 3.63 runs per game. Their lowest since 1920.

Ironically, the only team that has scored fewer runs than the Sox is the SF Giants.
