Tagged what?

The play that you defend when Eaton despite being half way home, turned around and went back to third.

I know who Im trolling, I got the right fish on the line.  If I wanted to reel in MVP , Id use different bait. For that, I would go to the thread where Harmony compares Cole Young to Mayer and point out that Mayer is 6'3 and Cole Young is like 5'9

I still feel like my joke comparing Harmony to Joe Hendry was underappreciated.  Say the Ms and he appears, I believe in Har-mon-ee (clap clap)

At trivia they tried to tell me that the first song to ever go to #1 featuring rap was beastie boys.  It was blondie - rapture and ill die on that hill.  Rap song.  Not the first rap song (that was sugar hill gang), but the first to go #1

Eaton is very fast.  Also throws very hard.  Two difficult skills to improve with coaching.

But he’s a mediocre hitter who probably becomes a bad hitter as his PAs increase…

I'd still pinch hit him for Durbin.

I saw Harmony's post yesterday and chose to ignore it. Young isn't a heartthrob like Mayer. No comparison.

Fair.  A side of turnips is not going to save a lousy meal.

I've never heard of this expression before.....but I like it.

Eaton isn't going to fix anything, but I'd take his bat over Durbin's bat if we're just looking at that.

Despite almost 2,000 PAs between the minors and the bigs showing better results?

He's not better offensively. RIGHT NOW, in one month he's hit better in AAA than Durbin has at MLB.  That' doesn't make him a better hitter.

I'm in no way shape or form trying to sugar coat antying here.  Crochet going down stinks and it's very worrisome, hopefully it's nothing too serious.

If he does miss significant time, one small sliver of goodness that comes from that is his opt out in 2031 is dropped and the Sox pick up a $15.00 option in 2032.  His age 31, 32 seasons.

Crochet going down sucks for him, but this is a LAST PLACE team with him or without him. And THAT is getting very very old.

Durbin would do better in the minors because he puts the ball in play more vs worse defense. That goes away vs superior defenses in MLB. It's why Braiden Ward has an OBP around .500 in AAA right now. I'd rather the better bat to ball profile of Eaton at that point.

While not huge, Eaton does have 264 big leagues PA's with an OPS 75 points lower, was a full 100 before Durbin got off to a slow start.

Eaton has way more swing and miss in his game. 26% k rate

Getting? it's been old.

Giolito was available like a week ago and signed for only 3M. Seemed like decent enough injury insurance to me considering everything that was happening at the time.

Good point, and $3M is much less than we spent on guys like Sandoval, Buehler, Hendriks, Paxton, Kluber, Richards...

Right now, Durbin is absolutely terrible and I would sub in Eaton for him.

Durbin can't get the ball out of the IF this year.

Suarez was available. I know he is so far having an off year but his career OPS+ is above average. Instead they signed another bum. Durbin sucks.

Ive got a friend who is a redskins/commanders fan.  In our group chat, hes the only fan....Rest of us are patriots guys (im not really into football, personally, its fourth for me by a lot out of basketball, baseball, hockey, football)....But im from providence and root for all home teams, so im pats fan by default.  But im always teasing my buddy cuz hes just always looking for any opening to talk about the commanders nad nobody cares.

Like Ill be talking about a friend of ours from back in teh day and he'll be like "that guy has a funny name.  You know who else has a funny name, the backup safety on teh commanders. You know, I really liked what the commanders did this draft" then he'll go on for a while."

And Im like are you just going to go on for a while about a football team that only you care about?

I got those vibes from harmony changing the convo to mariners players.

Grady Sizemore isn't around anymore. The ladies need some sizzle, per Tom.

Eugenio has a 219 tOPS+ at Fenway. Loves hitting here. If Masa wasn't on the squad, he would have been a fine DH. He's a much better hitter once it gets to July 1st too (July - Sept OPS over 815).

Romero isn't ready yet. Wouldn't add him to the 40 man unless he was really ready to contribute.

That wasn’t a tag up play.  Are you saying he should have run through the stop sign?

Must be desperate times if there is a DUBin vs Eaton discussion going on.

It's Friday. I'm not doing any work today unless I really have to.

The Sox need Braiden Ward and his .462 OBP…
