Bad when you get snow days that far south.

It's not even like we got a foot of snow or anything.  Maybe 2 inches?  And we had another snow day today.  LOL

I opened my MLB app today, and it showed the upcoming game schedule for the first time since October.  This got me a lot more excited than it had any right to.

Disagree.  I think cats are complete dumb-asses and PRETEND to be aloof to persuade you to think (wrongly) they're smart.  Dogs, on the other hand, are completely secure in their intellectual abilities and only act like dumb-asses because they know you will reward them for it.

It's crazy what happens in places where it doesn't usually snow.  I have a friend from Harrisburg who said they wouldn't even pay attention to 12 inches of snow.  But entire highways in Houston would shut down over 1-2 inches of snow.

They closed school on Friday for school on the following Monday just over the fear of ice.

We got nothin.

The last 2 spots in the bullpen should be a real dogfight.
We got a lot of contestants and I think it would help if both were left handed

Dogfight in as such that they are real dogs. I think the back of the 6-8 guys in the bullpen should have been upgraded unless they plan on bringing up the live AAA arms like Early and Tolle.

Hypothetical, if dogs doubled in size (cats X5) to both be bigger and weight more than humans.

I think your dog would still love you.  Your cat would almost immediately eat you.

Did a dog write this post?

I cant hate on any animal lover, even if its a cat averse dog lover.  I use to not like cats until my roomate got one 15 yrs ago and I was so against it and that cat was my best friend/bully 2 months later.

My cat absolutely loves me. Follows me room to room, is always trying to jump on my lap. Is always trying to lick my face.  Gets super excited when I call her over.  Must sleep with me every night.

She would probably kill me if she could, just from instinct....Not even trying to, like a half playful swat with a little too much claw that just ripped me open, not even thinking about it.  BUT she would 100% feel bad about it after when it sets in that Im not coming back.  When I think about my cat killing me, I almost cry because of the guilt she'd feel and the fear that she just f'd up her entire life/food system

lets change the subject, plz

WBC doesn't happen until a few weeks into ST. All the players should report on Feb 15th before heading to their WBC teams.

While Mexico did great last time, the previous two times, they were knocked out in the first round while Netherlands placed 4th those years.

Dogs are adorable morons.  I watched mine chase a rabbit and run headfirst into a rather stationary tool shed.

He was fine.  The shed was fine.  And of course, the rabbit was fine…

Well, they do have 23 pitchers and catchers on the 40 man roster.  24 if you count Gasper, who likely hasn’t reported yet…

The Netherlands team does get some impressive islanders, like Bogaerts, Acuna, Profar, Andrelton Simmons, etc…

I think Pete's point is that it's impressive that there are that many 40 man people onsite almost a week before the reporting date (includes KC and maybe a rehabbing Casas). He's been going to Spring Training for a long time and maybe it's not always like this.

I'm impressed.  I'm glad to hear that KC is one of the guys who reported early, and that he will be getting a lot of reps.

As far as the WBC goes, I'm sure it's a thrill for players to represent their home countries.  It's fun to watch.  Just please, no injuries.  That always concerns me.

Don't worry, the players can only play in the WBC if they are insured. It's why some teams are pulling out.

I think they are hopeful uberstine and drohan can claim those spots.

I think they see Bennett as a starter.
I think samsniengo is not ready yet, but definitely a bullpen arm

Acuna? Am I overlooking someone? Ronald and Luisangel are Venezuelan.

Last year, Samaniego was coming back from TJS. I don't know what he'll bring to the table this season.

I wouldn't have protected Uberstine. I don't think he'd do very well if called up. Maybe his stuff plays up in a bullpen role, but he's still slated to be a starter for now.

Drohan just can't stay healthy. Whatever they get out of that guy is a bonus at this point.

I fully expected our 2025 SP'er depth to pitch meaningful innings in the pen, last year, but they didn't. So many got hurt, but we still did not use them as much as we could have (should have?)

Our pen carried us, last year, so it's hard to say mistakes were made on that front.

2025 IP by SP'ers:

19 Newcomb, then traded

12 Wink

11 Criswell

8 Dobbins, 5 Bello, 4 Fitts, 3 D May, 2 Buehler

This year, I hope we have better health and see many moderate to high  leverage IP from the pen by Crawford, Harrison, Oviedo or Sandoval. I'm not sure about messing with pen time for Tolle or Early, but one of them could start, while we slide one of the four I just mentioned to the pen.
