don't forget Ryan Otero, hired just a few days ago as a "Special Assistant to the CBO". or, maybe, he's just a "special" assistant to the CBO. and Theo....what the f*** happened to him? do we need to put his face on a milk carton?

He may be laying low until he can officially change his last name. I'm half serious; he's legendary for achieving ultimate success for two franchises known for decades as lovable losers -- and after he reached those pinnacles, some pundits wondered if he'd be a viable candidate for political office...

... at least for Manfred's job, which comes with as much bs as donkeys and elephants.

Of course we had some on here with one in particular, who went around doing his Paul Revere impression shouting Devers Forevers, Devers Forevers, Devers Forevers to all, and any who would listen year after year.🤔🤫

I still don't get why that gets to much attention from you.

I wanted them to extend Devers, just like I did with Betts, Sale and others. We finally did it.

How is that related to what happened this year?

We have an offer out therefor 4 years to Alonso. The market for Alonso is soft!

if I were Alonso, I would leverage that offer to get an offer from the Mets!!

I think the Mets would rather sign Bregman to 4 or 5 years than Alonso for 4. Maybe the same for Bichette.

Hell, Schwarber might get just 3-4 years.

We may be the only team offering the 1Bman 4 years. (The guy is really a DH disguising himself as a 1Bman.)

I think Bregman is headed to the cubs

schwarber should resign with the Phillies

I have a trade proposal: The basic is Jarren Duran to Cleveland for Jose Ramirez.

There may need to be a some things added, but it makes sense.  Boston is rich in OF and in need of a quality 3B.  Cleveland is poor in OF and two of their top prospect are at 3B.  Money: I believe Cleveland would save money because Duran's contract is so low.  But Ramirez is under contract through 2028 with his last year being the most at 25M... this would leave plenty of money and minor league talent to get Pete Alonso (FA) and a great SP (Trade).

Everyone but the Sox can outbid Cohen?

Yes on Schwarber.  A lot of chatter about Bregman going to the Cubs, but relegating Shaw to the bench or AAA, after the second half he had, would seem counterproductive.

I'm not so sure these guys are all going where everyone assumes they are.

DD may love Schwarber, but I'm sure he likes other shiny objects, too, and some may cost less or fill a more important role than DH.

It does seem like the Cubs want Bregman, but don't count them out on Tucker. Also, if they have that much cash, maybe someone else fits their needs better.

TOR seems in on Tucker heavily, but then maybe Bichette goes to team we thought Breggie was going. Lots of moving parts. Maybe it just takes one domino, and they all come tumbling down.

Yeah, I don't see Bo going back to the Jays, and I don't see Schwarber going back to the Phillies. Though both are possible, of course.

Soler has only 1 error in the past four years, has a higher fielding % than Duran, and I might be a better fielder.

Total chances matter!!  I agree that Fielding % out of context can be very misleading.

They likely move Shaw to 2b as Nico Hoerner is a free agent after 2026…

There would be riots in Cleveland if they did that,  Not only one of the best, but also one of the most consistent players in baseball.

You are correct... it would be like Nomar or Mookie for the Red Sox. However, another consideration is that Ramirez is 33 on a team of late 20 year-olds. (Duran is only 29... he fits the age of that team better.) I'm sure it would take something else included with Duran to make that trade happen, but Ramirez sure would look nice playing 3B and batting 2nd or 3rd for the Red Sox.
