I don’t think he opts outs.  MVP and Jeff Passan do.  So it’s 2-1 in favor right now.  No word from Bregman, although after the last loss he did comment “it was an honor to put on this uniform,” which SOME PEOPLE think means he will opt out.

Has he placed a full page ad in the Globe yet?

For this off season to be successful for the Sox Bregman needs to be in Boston. Solid defense at third, hit for power, and a true clubhouse leader. I don't think the Sox could find someone to replace all three of those things.

He’s an ass.  He had the apartment next to mine 40ish years ago when he was just starting out at the Moline Dispatch.  He was an arrogant putz despite that being his first job.  I was friends with his boss (the sports editor) who shared my opinion of him.

Nothing I’ve seen in the intervening decades has changed my view of him.
