Beavers play was bad but holy s*** that 3B for Baltimore should get cut. He had an easy double play and showed no effort and jogged to bag and showed no urgency throwing ball. All the orioles fans in my section were booing him lmao

How neat is that!  On the scene commentary.

When you see teams play this badly, you wonder are we really this good, or did everyone else just get real bad, suddenly?

Strip out the 3 phony runs and it was a well-;played ballgame.

In the words of Janis Joplin it's a Combination of the Two.

Next up, Bello and Crochet.  A sweep would be oh so nice--and timely.  Sox hitting continues to be suspect, however.

Sox have won 5 of 6 road games in which they gave up 3, 0, 1, 7, 3, and 0 runs.

This explains (in part) why in any shot of fans, regardless of what is going on on the field, a third or so are engrossed in their cell-phones.

In the very near future babies will be born with cell phones attached to their ears. This will cause even more painful deliveries for the mothers.

Rafaela's OPS is .708 before his last K....getting close to Moon's cutoff for him to be playing.

A .700 OPS cutoff for the starting lineup is unrealistic.  And if the Sox did institute it, you'd have to work even harder to find your complaints...

I don't know if this will happen before or after Florida is completely underwater.

Unrealistic to who? You?

As I’ve written here many times it all depends how many other guys in the lineup you have that are useless with a bat in their hands. If you have 6-7 mashers you can afford players who are offensive bums. If not you aren’t going to compete with better teams

Florida will end up underwater. No Q about that. It's nature's way of punishing ignorance.

Yanks won, but...

TOR lost

HOU is losing in the 9th (6-1 to COL)

SEA is losing 5-0 to SDP in the 4th

DET is losing to ATH 3-0 in 3rd

We can gain on a few teams ahead of us, with some luck.

When you play near GG defense at a key position like CF, and run the bases pretty well, hitting about 20 points below the league norm is not a weak spot.

This team is 4 GB the division lead in late August, and we have fans that want to speculate on Rafaela falling to .700 and magically turn into a sucky player on that precise AB.

I'd normally laugh, but Fred is serious. This is what he focuses on, everyday.

Of course it is-offensively. We are never going to agree on this. Given the fact that we have guys like Narvaez and Yoshida and Hamilton on the roster we simply can’t afford to have a black hole in CF. We were there once. We shouldn’t go back. Only Bregman and Anthony are hitting very well.
But you’re in luck! Rafaela isn’t going anywhere. So we will all have the privilege of watching him flail around out there with a bat in his hands like a fish out of the water.

Wrong again! I focus on winning and Rafaela is an impediment to doing that.

What a ridiculous statement.
