I'm not sure this ever happened with Mookie.  There is however a contingent of Sox fans who think Mookie was the one who wanted out.

I had heard that and had heard Mookie wanted to try free agency (which is not the same as wanting out).  Given his demands at the time, it’s believable he wanted free agency.  But the issue was he simply wanted more money than Boston would pay (or the same money for two more years, as it turned out).

This was more of a matter of Boston simply not keeping up with current financial trends.  Zack Scott pointed out they never thought of simply deferring money, despite teams doing this as far back as the Yankees with ARod…

should we remind Sox exactly what type of year Betts had in 2018..it was off the charts fantastic.

There was deferred money in Sale's extension.  Guess they thought of it just a tiny bit late...

Still wha, wha, wha!😂😂😂. So now Cora is chicken. There is statements out there on why Cora didn’t approach Devers about playing 1B, but where is your proof that Cora was chicken?🤔 Your head is always spinning just like the Red Sox. It just just cracks me up that so many think Devers at 1B was a good baseball move.🤭

You can't read. I give up.

Buehler needs to work on his pregame prep. His first innings suck!

(His next ones have not been great, either, but you get my point.)

He just sucks.    The inning doesn’t matter.

The other thing that frustrates me about this team is that we are wasting a Cy Young caliber season from Crochet. He is the league leader in strikeouts, and although Skubal, Crochet, and Fried all have a valid case for AL Cy Young, Crochet is deserving nonetheless. And there's no guarantee he'll ever have this good of a season ever again. In fact, statistically speaking, he probably won't.

my thoughts exactly.

He has sucked- no doubt.

ERA:

10.29 1st innings

5.50 2 to 7 innings

Yes, both suck, but one makes it impossible for the offense to pull out a win. The other, not so much.

(He has a 2.73 ERA in innings 2-3, 14.29 in inning 4 and 3.53 innings 5-7.)
