I think more teams play bad fundamentals than teams that play well fundamentally.  The Yankees are worse than the Red Sox.  In the words of John Sterling in last year’s World Series, the Yankees run the bases like drunks.

It worked for the Mick?

Liam Hendriks: 0 blown saves. Must be having a good season!

Whitlock leads the team in blown saves, but it was probably unfair to put him in high leverage situations after missing so much time due to injury. I'd give him a pass. In two of Wison's blown saves, the Sox came back to win and the other was 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB in a 4 run loss. I'd give him a pass too.

That's great, are you happy converting 50%of your save opportunities?

In NONE of those three games, was Justin Wilson coming in to get a save. Do we really think he was going to pitch from the 6th inning all the way until the end of the game? Of course not. He didn't even appear in the 8th inning of any of those 3 "blown saves." Save conversion rates are meaningless.

How in hell could Sogard take those last 2 sweetmeat cookies ?   There is something mentally wrong with the Red Sox marginal players.  That was an awful AB

Hamilton was picked and got very lucky .  Going on a LH'er ?  Not too bright but outcome justifies being an idiot

Abreu was picked twice, but wasn't so lucky.

Sogard-Slaten play at first another example of failure to execute simple plays.  Go ahead and blow it again

The truth is that with the Sox pitching they need an excellent defensive outfield.

They don’t have a competent infield with Bregman out.

A couple of the Sox relievers have become everyday players.

They will have noodle arms in 3 weeks and will be getting DFA’d.

Now 6-15 in 1 run games , another  meaningless blown save ?   Leads MLB in extra inning games.  Very impressive , AC and CB
