Sox were flat lucky last night and have absolutely no chance to win tonight.  Completely outclassed.  A bunch of losers.  Plus Cora is back.  50-1, Mets.

Being a closer is a stressful occupation with a high burn-out rate. I think it definitely got to Clay Holmes. But he has good stuff and has reinvented himself as a starter. However, I do like the Sox chances of getting to him early in this game.

If Paul Skenes could be up for trade this season, which is highly likely, should the Sox go after him?

Would you be Okay with Mayer and Anthony being part of the trade?

This is the last year on Skenes' contract, but the Sox have the funds to extend his contract. Skenes is one of the top starters in MLB

I’d like to see Bernardino take about 1/2 hour to warm up here.  Estabrook wants to escalate things, let him sit back there and stew.

We really need challenges at calling balls and strikes ASAP. This was a strike by a mile man, how can you miss that at this level? It’s beyond me.

That incident with Esterbruck and the tossing of Buehler is way outside the lines.  Umpire misses the call badly, and then goes on offense.  Screw their union  and the assumption that they can control the game.

Lindor was stealing second.  Pitch was a good strike down and away.  Not borderline at all.  Umpire called it a ball.  Buehler at first was dumbfounded and then said something (I’m not JomBoy, I have no idea what).  Umpire yanks his mask off and comes out 1/3 of the way to the mound, telling Buehler to get back on the mound (IMO, he had already decided to toss Buehler, he just needed to provoke things a little).  Buehler said one more thing (might have been you get back to the plate) and got tossed.

Cora wasn’t long for the game after that either.

Buehler needed to get his work in. He didn’t throw enough pitches unfortunately

If the Sox give up a run in the 4th, note that Hamilton missed the tag on a good throw from Duran to cut down a double.

On replay, it looked like the throw took a high hop, which may have made a difference on Hamilton’s tag attempt.
