It would be nice to get 2 out of 3 and get out of town. Go 1-2 or 0-3 and we're back to mediocrity.

Houck needs to right himself.

Houck has just been kind of dreadful. His sweeper doesn't work anymore. He was "the right handed Chris Sale" because of that hard slider, but it's just trash now. The splitter was a great pitch for him last year, but it's doing nada this year. He just can't get LHB out anymore (7.21 FIP/1029 OPS). He may need to go to the pen at some point and try to figure it out again. I think I'd rather Newcomb out there TBH.

My top 4 would be Crochet, Giolito, Bello and Dobbins. Houck maybe jettisoned to the pen when injured starting pitchers return.

Has anyone heard a status update on Fitts?

Wong and Toro currently bunch two non-hitters in the #7 & #8 slots.    They have a combined .682 OPS in a small sample size., but do not look ready to have competitive AB's based on some of the strike takes and out of zone swings.

The Tigers scare me.  IMO, they are currently the best team in baseball and are playing very well, despite losing the last two.  Maybe we're catching them at the right time?  {Fingers crossed.}

It would be nice to win the series, but if we can avoid getting swept and finish the road trip 3-3, I'd be okay with that.

He threw 2 BP sessions last week , but is not set to return to  MLB activity until end of May at best, June more likely.

I wish Cora would have them bunt to advance the baserunner. Do something constructive. Connor is 6-38, all singles. Ugh.

Tigers have moved up two spots in MLB power ranking, going from #5 to #3,  despite losing their last two. But they are 7-3 in their last 10 games.

Their team ERA is right behind the Royals (#1) in AL.

Our ERA in May is outstanding, 2.47 compared to Tigers' 3.60.

Our team has been pitching well.  Let's hope it continues.

Jobe has 2 decent outings out of 6.....it's been a race to the bottom for Jobe and Houck.

He was rocked for 8 hits, 6 runs in 3 2/3 innings vs Colorado in his last outing.

So much for that idea.
2-0 already

Tigers already have three hits

Houck being Houck

Something positive?

We did not extend Casas and Houck.

Houck maybe a trade candidate someone in need of a healthy body in July.

Toro, now 2-15....come on guys. Do something.

we now have slumping

Duran, Story, Wong, Toro, Campbell......ugly. All in the starting lineup.

Wong is 6-38 this year, all singles.

Wong strikes out on a ball at least a foot outside. Next inning we get to watch Rafaela flail at balls two feet off the plate

Meh.  He's not as good as last year but has had several decent starts this year.  11 days ago 7 IP and 1 ER, for example.

Brain fart by Duran.

Didn't see your comment.  Clearly great minds think alike.
