He’s actually improved a lot and is the least of my worries. He hits 9th and no matter what is giving you elite defense

He’s not a top 3 CFer tho

Very impressive performance by Gio today.

If we get Buehler back and get Houck righted, we'd be in pretty good shape.

Not sure what we'll do when Kutter returns.

I wasn’t expecting a good start from Giolito at all. Not even a decent one. Nice to see he proved me wrong, but most importantly if he stays solid and healthy, he’s going to be a huge asset moving forward.

Unrelated. But on my quest to visit every MLB ballpark, me and my friends just booked a trip to see both Chicago teams, Minnesota and Milwaukee in 7 days last week and today my fiancé helped me book a trip to see Cardinals in St Louis with my dad and her for Father’s Day. I’m not sure if this is impressive or a weird addiction.

Better than what Slaten and Whitlock have been doing recently! Who would’ve thought

Whitlock is very hittable.

Hamilton is not good on either side of the ball.   He is digging himself a hole in the Pike to WooSox

Pretty sure the Cardinals are on the road on Father's Day.

I worded that poorly. It’s a Father’s Day gift. The actual trip is in July.

Hamilton's speed is not an asset if you don't play him. He's not hitting and his defense was always 50/50.

He’s a good defender at 2b, but horrible at SS. He’s probably DFA worthy, but Sox could just option him. Call up Mayer to start at 2b when ready. Figure out where to put Campbell.

How many have you been to?

How many have you been to that no longer exist?  I’ve got a bunch of those:

Yankee Stadium (original)

Shea Stadium

Exhibition Stadium (Toronto)

Municipal Stadium (Cleveland)

Comiskey Park (original)

County Stadium (Milwaukee)

Busch Stadium (middle version)

Astrodome

So far that still exist 10, they are:

Fenway

Citi Field (Mets)

Citizens Bank (Phillies)

Wrigley (Cubs)

Camden Yards (Orioles)

Nationals Park (nationals obviously lol)

PNC (Pirates)

Minute Maid (Astros)

Progressive Field (Guardians)

Great American Ballpark (Reds)

I’ll be up to 15 at end of the season as I’m doing White Sox, Cubs (already seen but my roommate really wants to go and I’m down), Twins, Brewers and Cardinals and I have a die hard Yankees fan buddy who for his 30th birthday wants us to come to New York for a Yankees/Sox game, so that’s also loosely planned.

for stadiums that not longer exist. I saw nationals play at RFK stadium (it actually might still exist lol but it’s a shithole) and I went to old yankee stadium as a very young kid with my dad. I don’t have much memory of it.

^also very jealous of comiskey, astrodome and shea. As someone who plays MLB the show and is a baseball historian I would’ve loved to attend those parks. When I was in Texas I actually visited what was left of the astrodome.

also would’ve loved to see a game at polo grounds. Such a ridiculous park lol

Giolito with an awesome performance today. I was worried the 3rd inning when he allowed a few guys on but he bounced back.

Agree!  In fact, all 3 starters were terrific this series, as was the bullpen.  I believe I'm correct in saying that the Royals scored 1 earned run in 3 games.

Sogard was fine at 1b because he's a warm body, almost decent on defense, and we don't need his hitting.  We don't miss/need Casas, at least, not the one we had this year.   In that vein moving Devers to 1b would be just stupid.  He's a terrific DH so far and that's all we need from him.  Breslow can go pound sand.

Still just 2 games over .500, but this was a very encouraging 3 games @ KC.

Back to Breslow.  Right now it looks like he's made a lot of good moves to put the Sox in a position to win a bunch of games.
