The 2025 Red Sox graduated quite a few prospects this year. I cannot remember a year with so many graduates.

but amazingly, we have some really good young prospects in the pipeline. Arias and Justin Gonzales look amazing!!!

on the pitching side, we got a couple decent arms at Worcester in early and Tolle

been an amazing prospect year thus far

A few past prospects took steps back or failed to move forward, but that is expected.

End Last Season/Start of season>>>

9 Cespedes> 16

15 Bleis>12 (by attrition)

21 D Reyes> 51 (Injured)

22 Castro>25

Tygart and Nunez fell, too.

I agree, though- a nice season!

Tolle 5 innings, 1 run and 9 strikeouts!!!   Wow!!  He looked locked in tonight

Sandlin is imploding.

Paez pitched a shutout 3 IP (1H, 0BB, 5K)

POR won 8-2, as they try to reach .500 (57-59.) Mullins never gets much cred. He's got a 2.30 ERA and pitched okay, today. Cooper Adames pitched 1 hit shutout ball in 3 relief innings (0.55 ERA.) Liendo & Castro each had 2 hits.

SAL won game one 2-0 as Gartrell and Klinader let up only 5 hits and 3BB over 7 IP (8Ks.)

Drohan got drilled w GRE, as they are on their way to a loss. YRod, Martin & Mussett with 2 hits, each.

Justin Gonzales went 2 for 3 today at Salem. Now hitting .302 as an 18 year old!!!! Looks really poised at the plate!!!  Nice swing too

Sox prospects.com has Gonzales at GRE, next season. Maybe he ends up at POR by the end of 2026. He sure looks like a keeper.

Our everyday prospect list took a big hit with graduations by Anthony, Mayer, Campbell, Narvaez and the trade of Teel, Montgomery and Meidroth, but I still have hopes in some big jumps next year....

C Jo Garcia, Jo Rodriguez & Mussett (H White & Rosario)

1B Hickey, Brooks (C) & Brito

2B Godbout, Mason &  (Cespedes is dropping)

SS Arias, Soto, Cason, Ramos & Pinto (Nunez is dropping)

3B Romero, Liendo & Encarnacion (Alcantara & Anderson are dropping)

LF Gonzales, Azocar & YRod (Castro is dropping)

CF Jh Garcia, Rivas & Martin (Bleis is dropping)

RF Taylor, Turner & Yuten

DH Hickey

Woo won 8-5. Murphy pitched the first 3 and only walked one. (2H 0ER) Slaten pitched a scoreless IP- oH, oBB, oKs. Campbell, Romero and Sikes homered. Campbell & Sogard had 2 hits.

POR last 12-10 as Wehunt and others got lit up. Miller & Brannon homered. Miller had 3 hits & Bleis 2.

GRE lost 9-8. I'm not sure what happened to Ehrlicher but he started and went 0.0 IP w no hits or BBs. Arias went 1-3 w 2BBs and 3 runs scored (.703) Taylor has 2 hits & BB. Martin 1-2 w 3BB.

SAL won 3-2 as Fajardo (2.84 ERA) continues to impress. 6IP 2H 0ER 0BB 8K. J Bello pitched poorly. Nunez had 2 hits, including a 2B. J Gonzales went 0-4.

Eye-witness report from Woo:

The Good -- Sogard played SS like a big leaguer, with two diving backhand stops and throws from the hole to gun down batters at first. He also turned two DPs, and lined two hits.

The Bad -- KC played CF and wiped out trying to charge a pop-up that fell in...

And the Campbell -- but then Kristian drilled a 421-foot home run to center; wind was blowing out, as usual, but the hit was a rising liner.

Arias is the number 1 ranked prospect for the Sox. Defensively, he is vacuums up everything at shortstop. Sometimes he makes plays in short left field, he has that kind of range.
offensively, he is an exciting hitter. The only knock being that he has a lot of rafeala in him.

Justin Gonzales has been fun to watch, his at bats are good and he always learns from his mistakes. Defensively, he is barely average in the outfield!!  Should be full time at first base!!

the absolute star signing though, in my opinion, is Valera!!  Wow!!  His stuff is off the charts good!!  Can he master the command and control??? If he does, is he a future ace!!!!  He probably needs UCL surgery and I do not know why he did not have it this year, but I am sure the team doctors are doing what is best for him!!!!!

I used soxprospects.com's current rankings, and Tolle is #1. I have Gonzales & Valera higher, too.

I do not think it matters much!!  Both kids are uber talented players.

I saw holy-Tolle pitch at tcu and when I watch him now, it is like seeing an entirely new pitcher. Congrats to the Sox pitching gurus, this is an incredibly successful job they did in a very short period of time!!!!

we graduated a good number of players recently, but we got more in the pipeline for sure.

I figured we still had a decent farm after all the graduations, but I was kind of surprised how highly other ranking services ranked us.

We graduated Anthony, Mayer, Campbell, Narvaez, Dobbins, Fitts & Guerrero.

In 2024, we graduated Abreu, Rafaela, Slaten & DHam.

2023: Casas, Murphy, Bernardino & Kelly

2022: Duran, Bello, Crawford, Wong & Wink

2021: Houck & Whitlock

Can we talk Mullins for a minute. Last week I watched him throw a few innings. Stuff is decent, but not “wow” like Valera.

however Mullins can pitch and pitch well. He has an impressive ERA. He has 10.2 strikeouts per 9 innings.(same as Tolle by the way)

My question is why isn’t, why is Mullins not in Worcester????

His numbers are amazing. He's Rule 5, this year. I doubt they are holding him back to avoid his selection odds going too high, but I share your curiosity.

He's top 10 on the farm in IP, but take a gander at the OPS Against numbers:

.531 Fajardo 65 IP FCL/A- (18 years old)

.550 Mullins 87 IP A+/AA (24 years old)

.556 Rivera 73 IP A+/AA (22)

.590 Tolle 92 IP 3 teams (22)

.597 Aita 196 IP A-/A+ (22)

.609 Early AA/AAA (22)

He's older than all these guys.

Futrell pitched well, again (1.37 ERA) as Arias is heating up. (2-4 w 2B.)

Rogers pitched well for POR and Castro had 4 hits.

Early went 5 IP w no ER (3 unearned) in WOO's win. Campbell 1-4 w BB. Romero, Hickey, Toro & Sogard w 2 hits. Toro homered.

Paez left start tonight and they said it was the elbow!!!  Ouch!!!

He is Rule 5. Maybe we don't protect him, now.

WOO lost 4-1. Mata pitched well for 2 IP. (Kind of a forgotten guy.)

POR is up big, 15-2. Rivera pitched well, again. (Not talked about much) Brannon 4-4, Ehrhard and Rosario homered.

Godbout and Jo Garcia had 2 hits in the GRE loss. Aita finally had a bad game in relief of Paez.

Justin Gonzales has been in Greenville for 3 games and has gone 1 for 4 in all 3 games and is younger than the league average by 4.5 years!!!!
That is a bit insane

Despite all the attention put on our farm pitching, for once, we still have some very promising everyday players in the system, including a lot of IFA signings that may take 1-2 more seasons to start realizing we have some real good ones.
