How many “4th/5th starters” made 32 starts, pitched 180 IP, and were worth 2 bWAR?

He’s not a great pithcher, but he is a good one.  And his durability last year has value.

He won’t be part of a trade for Crochet, but that doesn’t make him worthless…

He is the dirty diaper of the Red Sox rotation.

Crawford 2023. 129.1 ip

Crawford 2024 1st half 114.1 ip with a 3.00 era

Crawford 2024 2nd half 69.2 ip with a 6.59 era

Looks like he tired.

Maybe all those many innings he's being lauded over for pitching weren't good for him?

I am seeing more action of a crochet trade on the Phillies and dodgers site than anywhere else!
Still looks like we are heavily involved in signing fried. Will bres-slow go 6-7 years???

Honestly if the price was really only going to be Abreu plus, I’d be comfortable trading for him.  Don’t have to extend him if his demands are insane.  And two years + a pick is fine, and they could still sign Fried in that scenario as well

oh, i agree with that. i just think giving up Abreu or Duran plus one of the Big 4 is just insane.

If that’s he price I’d want nothing to do with Crochet.

Crochet was 107.1 IP / 3.02 ERA in the first half, 38.1 IP / 5.12 ERA in the second half.  Looks like he tired out as well, and did so with 40 fewer IP…

Someone in the White Sox org recently said they intentionally capped Crochet's starts at 4 innings in the second-half so he wouldn't burn out from overuse.

He didn't say "so he wouldn't burn out... or get injured and lower his trade value."

But I thought it. What say the Chicago baseball reporters?

Perhaps, I built that trade around the rumor that they like Abreu as a headliner.  I'm not going to get hung up who the 2nd or 3rd guy in that trade will be.

it is going to take at least Abreu PLUS one of our 4 prospects
