Giving odds for next year's world champs before all the winter free agents sign and trades are made is very odd.

Note to John Henry and anyone else who thinks fans only care about winning and not star power -- here's the latest headline on MLB.com (that I had to post, without even reading about Mookie yet):

Star-studded Yanks-Dodgers World Series draws record viewership all across the globe

tied at 15th with the Tigers. right in the middle. looks like JH has perfected mediocrity.

Agreed, and there is no indication we make more moves than half the teams, this winter.

Other teams, especially the Dodgers, have more players returning from injury, but we may have more than most: Gio, Henriks, Fulmer, plus maybe more from Story, Casas, Devers, Slaton, Whitlock, and more.

Not many teams have more promising top ranked prospects at ML-readiness.

If we can keep pace with off season outside additions, I think we can be top 10-12, at worst. Barring a mess of injuries, of course.

Who cares about World Series odd in early November?  What are they telling us?  That this team has barely improved since October?!?

They're telling some of us we're a bunch of tools who are so starved for entertainment that we might actually find this worth talking about.

More importantly, they're telling the gambling addicts they can start betting on this for real, even though there will be a ton of changes before games actually start.

Hey it worked out great for all those Celtics’ fans who bet on the team right before they traded for Kevin Garnett, when odds went from something like 35-1 to 6-1 in a matter of hours…
