I was only able to watch the second half of last night's game and my takeaway is that Trevor Story looks hopeless with the stick right now.

Story has looked hopeless in the batters box for the majority of the time he has been in Boston.

Ectoplasm. The Fox graphic last night was worse: Story's career in Boston so far equals 150 games. 

If he plays in 12 of the 15 remaining games, he'll hit the equivalent of one full season -- in three years.

He had an 802 OPS from 5/19/22 - end of season. Aside from that, he's been pretty bad.

Lat night Devers made two excellent defensive plays. For the last 3 weeks or so he has been MIA offensively. 

If he's too 'injured' to hit, why have him in the line-up?

Liam Hendricks has been shutdown for the season. Hopefully, he'll be able to participate in 2025.

If the Twinkies weren't such a mediocre team, like the SOX, the SOX could also be shutting down Houck and Devers.

I think the management is starting to realize that the season is over and that’s why they shut down Hendricks and scratched Houck.

So they have a few guys who can't go the distance. No Field of Dreams for Red Sox.   I would certainly shut down Houck rather than risk any shoiulder injury, despite the long off season available.

Ironic that if the bats had not taken early retirement this year and won 5-6 more games, we would still miss the WC because no one can throw anymore.
