Anyone who may wonder why Dever's shoulder is sore just needs to watch a few of his swings. I understand that is how he gets exit velocity when he does connect but he will wreck himself . Lucky the ump didn't cheat him with K on the last 2 pitches.

Boyle has some nice stuff when he can harness it. He or Langeliers seem to be relying too much on the heat. He has people screwed up when he throws offspeed. But that straight heat at 97 is only working when it's painted or playing off the slow stuff. I know, Pitching 101.

Houck getting an extra Spring training start... should help his next few starts. In all seriousness- I've always thought he had another level he would elevate to... maybe this year. But it's been great to see all the rotation off to a good start.

Probably will... but I'd sure like to see him just let the starter do what a starter is supposed to do. Take advantage of these nights and keep the relievers on the bench and pitch count down.

If Story doesn't get another hit all year... he's still an asset in the lineup. His defense is that good- and consistent. If he could additionally bat .250.... he's the leader of this team.
