Why are you so high on Arias?

I'm a little worried about Zanetello being able to stay on the field.

My penchant for good defensive SSs, I suppose.

Didn't he get sidelined with the same injury twice? as in, it sounds like they worked him back too quickly?

If he gets sidelined again I'll start to worry.

Arias is nice, I've heard people really like him. But at his age, level, track record I don't think he's anything to rave about.......yet.

He injured the same leg last season and was put on the IL for 2 weeks. He's had more IL days than games played so far in his career.

I guess I might be a little worried too.

Mata seems very likely a DFA candidate…

Even if he had options, his time seems to be running out.

I think the Sox might re-sign him if he clears waivers. But he is a tough player to claim given his injury history, recent performances, and lack of options…

Woo lost 9-8.

Kavadas 0-5 w 4Ks, but is still at 1.031.

Alvarez homered twice (3-3)

POR lost 8-3.

Lugo 2-4 w 2B & 3B

Red Sox pitcher Bryan Mata will miss more time after experiencing lat soreness following his latest rehab outing for Double-A Portland on Thursday.

Boston initially announced Mata’s injury as shoulder soreness, but the right-hander told reporters on Saturday the issue is primarily in his lat.

He took over Grissom's spot on Fortnite vs Fullmer, Hendricks and Mondesi. They wanted to play on the big screen in the Worcester clubhouse, but the pic is still warped after Sale smashed into it when he fell off the stationary bike while on rehab. Paxton tried to fly in a new one via carrier-eagle, but the bird strained a wing and landed back on the EL (Endangered List).

I'd be worried that Mata would hurt himself playing Fortnite, honestly.

@redsoxstats

Nicholas Judice (traded to the Red Sox with Richard Fitts and Greg Weissert for Alex Verdugo) is making his professional debut in the FCL today. He was an 8th round pick by the Yankees in 2023.

Rough night for wins on the farm.

Woo lost 9-4 as Uwasawa got rocked.

I Campbell worked a scoreless inning (0H, 1BB, 1K)

The 8-9-1 hitters provided most of the O, except Dalbec went 1-3 w 2BB and an rbi.Meidroth 3-4, Contreras 3-4 w HR and Rosier with a solo blast & BB.

Kavadas 0-4 w 1K

POR lost 6-4 as Wikelman got rocked.

Teel homered and walked.

Mayer 1-4

Paulino 1-4 w 2B

Lugo 0-4 (still at 1.047)

GRE lost 9-0 as Rogers and everyone let up runs.

SAL just scored 2 in the 9th to tie it 4-4, as Dean pitched well.

4IP 1H 1ER 0BB 5K

Bleis 2-4 and Taylor tied it w a 2 run HR in 9th.

FCL got bombed 10-2

Judice went 2 IP 1H 1ER 0BB 2K

Wikelman has been really terrible this season. I was hoping that he'd continue on his second half success from last year and at least have some relief appearances for BOS going forward. I'm not seeing it right now.

Bleis really struggled in April after missing all of last season, but was making decent contact and getting unlucky. Has a 914 OPS in May.

Since there are only a dozen and a half right-handed hitters with .800 or better OPS in the MAJORS right now, it looks like the farm is where good righty bats will ultimately come from.

Bleis, Cespedes, Lugo (Mr. Mojo rising), Jordan, Yorke, Garcia, Campbell, Brannon, Zanetello, Castro (switch), Anderson (switch) -- all are projected to make it to the big leagues per soxprospects.com...

Lugo, Yorke and Jordan are 2025 projections.

Bleis, Castro and Campbell are 2026 projections.

The rest are 2027 projections.

Out of all those names the only guys I'm really excited about are Bleis, and Cespedes.

Although I bet someone from the Garcia, Zanetello, Campbell, Brannon, Castro pop.

Some of these guys are going to bust, the ones closer to the majors trending down are very strong candidates to do so (Jordan/Yorke), others will be traded too.

All the real exciting prospects are RHH, aside from Bleis and Cespedes who are the furthest away are LHH.
