Hopefully they just leave him in there, take the loss, DFA him tomorrow, and have a full rested bullpen for the next 2 games.

I mean, why take him out now?

Exactly. The up/down home 7th tells you the hitters are uninvolved at this point. When he got the final out of Sale's 5th inning, that should have been it for Barraclough.

I am not sticking up for Cora but he can only play what he's got. I'd fire the whole works of them.

If GM's around the league have seen Cora manage(mismanage) as much as I have this season, they won't be breaking down doors to hire him.

8 hits, 4 walks and 3 HBP's in 2.2 innings , but at least Altuve was able to get the cycle off this turd machine. Who immediately gives up another hit.

Does the cycle even count if it’s against Kyle Barraclough?

Am I the only one who watches Barraclough and thinks “when does Kaleb Ort come off the Injured List?”

This whole deal is unprofessional at every level , embarassing and inexplicable. Barraclough probably will be DFA'ed, or just sent back to Worcester since his arm is now useless.

It’s a shame that Cora expose this guy this way. It’s obvious he’s not MLB material. It’s beyond baseball. It’s not ethical.

This ^ is a bunch of whooey. The only possible explanation is that Cora wants to fatigue the Stros from running the bases and possibly induce some pulled muscles to make it easier to take the next two games.

I'm not saying I'm right. But my explanation is better than yours. The only other explanations I've read are that Cora literally doesn't care and/or he wants to get fired so he can go back to the Astros.

I do feel bad for this guy. This has to be embarrassing and he’s over 80 pitches. He probably doesn’t want to be out there either lol

I’d feel bad for him, but he is supposed to be a pitcher, after all. It’s not like Cora is leaving Refsnyder out there. If Barraclough wants this to stop, maybe stop hitting and walking their hitters and get someone out…

84 pitches in just 3 innings. I guess Cora wants to make sure the Claw Man can’t pitch again. Wow!

Yeah but usually when a pitcher is having a horrendous outing, his manager will take him out. Not make him throw 80+ hellish pitches.

Unethical? Ain't no ethics in baseball. Barraclough's getting paid a MLB salary for this game and however long he's on an MLB roster.

If in fact Cora's intent is to buy another off day for his overworked bullpen, this is not unprofessional and in fact is something he's done before.

And right now the the Sox are in the middle of 48 games with just 3 days off while the rotation is averaging less than 5 innings per start.

Yesterday Murphy went 4 innings while giving up 6 runs. So this is two straight days of this.

Why the F would the Astros want him? Calling Cora a genius would be like calling Brian Wilson a genius if he had written ITSY BITSY TEENY WEENY YELLOW POLK-A-DOT BIKINI.

This is all on Bloom. The bullpen is so gassed from having to pitch so much from the lack of depth from the starters. Not to mention the inept defense that is causing pitchers to throw more pitches. Big mess

You really are quite emotional, aren't you, colonel?

Yup, 8 is not enough

Lmao they’re letting him pitch another inning

He's actually gotten better: 6 runs in the 6th, 2 in the 7th, 2 in the 8th, and 0 in the 9th.
