Leaving aside the first part of your question, for this game, it probably came down to finding someone at Worcester on the 40 man who either a) had not started since Tuesday or a reliever/opener who hadn’t pitched over the past day or 2. Worcester playing 2 yesterday didn’t help in that regard.

 

I’m guessing they didn’t want to start the service clock on someone at Portland and you still run into the not started since Tuesday.

I get that, and I agree with what you’re saying. I just don’t get why they hold onto Ort. He’s proven he sucks.. I guess starting Ort was better than starting that racist dude
