When enough people continue to exalt how great a manager Cora is, one tends to believe it, even when one's eyes tell a different story.

Cora Sucks period, no motivation ever

Tough night for Kiki. At least the team didn’t stop playing.

Bell I is got be fine. Not ace material probably but a solid mid level SP I think.

That result is actually worse than just going quietly 9-3

Not to me, it isn't. Oh, I agree it's a shame Cora never sent out one single good reliever and instead sent out Rodriguez.

No Martin, Winck, Crawford, Jansen, et al. But at least tonight we saw some offense which we really haven't see much of recently.

Also my friend mentioned it as Casas was coming up.. was Verdugo not available to PH for either Duran or Casas?

Good question!

Except the Reds change who they use out of the pen in a closer game. Can’t assume the game plays out the same.

Up 8-0, we saw the dregs of their bullpen.

Frankly, getting them to get Alexis Diaz to even warm up was a moral victory, let alone forcing them to use him in the game…

Bello's tough.

Nicely said. Plus Diaz gave up that double.

i was thinking the same think. no way i would have let Casas and his .194 BA bat there.

Entering tonight’s game, Casas was 6 for his last 15. Certainly not spectacular, but much better than the 5 for his last 24 that Verdugo put up…

Moral victory still shows up in the loss column. Yes getting Diaz into the game may help the next two games, but by Cora not going to Wink down only 1-0 may have been a whole different ballgame that Diaz might not of had a save situation. Bad bad managing by Cora tonight, which ended up in a loss.

This situation makes the non-decision to relieve an obviously failing Rodriguez a criminal act

Well, by the time the evidence is collected, even though we all saw it, and a grand jury is called in, it will still take a year for an indictment.

I know that, but I’d still rather have Dugy up in that situation.

That number is carried by his bad April. In May his BA is .290…

Casas has been rock solid all month.

Hit Verdugo for Duran? I can see that. But it makes zero sense that Casas got to hit all of April when he was struggling. And then once he gets hot, you want to take the bat out of his hands…

I don't think he was.

First, Lively is a rightly. I doubt Cora sits him against a righty.

Second, the radio guys said late in the game (maybe the 8th inning) that hopefully Verdugo would be back tomorrow night to help bolster the top of the line-up. That implies to me he was sick or dinged up. Wouldn't shock me to find out that he has what Sale and Devers had on the road trip.

Do we know Winck was available? Not saying he was or wasn't, but managers tend to hold such info close, if for no other reason than to make the other manager think.
