Just a question. I think M&M are potentially Don & Jerry 2.0.

M&M are not Don, and Jerry, but definitely better than OB, and the parade of ex Red Sox players who just yuck it up. To me not a good one in the bunch.

As I recall, Ned and Monty were replaced by Dick Stockton and (gulp) The Hawk.

My first remembrance was Gowdy, Ned Martin, and Art Gleeson. A little later Mel Parnell came in, and Johnny Pesky for awhile. Ned Martin broke in the Rem Dog who was terrible in the beginning.

I'd vote "None of the above," but it was not a choice.

I’m not a fan of Merloni, but I can tolerate him more than the others. Not a fan of OB either.

I may be in a minority, here, and that seems to be happening more and more as I get older, but I always likes Sean McDonough, despite his too frequent smugness.

I’ll agree with you on McDonough who I would take above all that is there now. Donny O got shafted out of Boston, and to me what they have now is second rate, or in Youck, and Millar maybe third rate.

Now, this is something we totally agree on!

Yipee!

A Donny O and Sean M combo would be great. I'd actually start listening to the audio feeds, again.

I think Harrelson was doing Red Sox games before Martin and Montgomery.

Montgomery did Sox games from 1982-1995. In 1985, Harrelson was named White Sox GM, and by 1987 he was out of their front office and in the Yankees and then later White Sox booth, where he stayed until early 2000’s…

The Hawk started doing Sox games in 1975, and lasted to 1981.Monty took over in 1982.

Hawk was a good color man when he began in the booth with the pro Stockton. He shared insights, like McCarver or Remy did in their primes, knew the players, and was a "homer" for a club with a lot of star power.

He didn't develop his obnoxious shticks until he worked for Chicago.

The preceding was a totally subjective assessment from a kid still scarred by the Red Sox' Hawk trade in 1969.
