Btw, I just checked. The chance of finding a pearl in an oyster is 10,000 to 1.

So you are saying there is a chance?

So the Sox get the requisite 27 outs, allowing only 3 after the first inning, and shutting out Toronto in 7 of 9 innings . This is a NESN positive news update.

All the positive news that's print to fit.

So the Sox had an 11 game run before the trade deadline to detrmine if they were buyers or sellers. They are now 0-3 in that effort. Does everyone realize that they could still go 8-3?? Just saying.

The comeback continues! Now two straight losses by margins less than 10 runs. This Sox team has no quit in them. Those 3 errors were all bad calls by the scorers.

Excellent point. My assessment is that these Sox are getting better every single day.

Moreover, I am hereby challenging all you doubting thomases. I predict the Sox are going to win another game this season. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

The reality is that the injury bug has made a shambles of the roster and lineup over the past two weeks. The uniforms look the same but there is no "stuff" in them. Dalbec and Cordero are not starters on a pennant seeking team. Downs and Duran need more work and even then may not be significant players.

Verdugo is a an odd duck, some ability, not much 'motor" . Vaz, JDM, Bogey are possibly looking at their last times in Boston. Jackie Bradley, a defensive replacement at best.

Frail Sale is done for this year. 5 other pitchers counted on for this year simultaneously on the IL , Taylor all year. Paxton was never a factor. Bello , at least, is getting some picture of what MLB pitcher's need to do. The simple fact that 30 year Ort pitched the 6th+ inning of his career today tells you a lot. Defensive lapses occur.

Kike and Arroyo have been real helps, or NOT so much or even at all.

June's run was very hopeful, but hope is not a strategy to win. .

A pathetic start to the second half. Injuries and poor fundamental play has doomed this team. They will be sellers at the deadline.

They can lose games and still look like contenders, but they’re losing games akin to how an expansion team would lose games. No fundamentals, bad defense, bad baserunning, bad situational hitting, mental errors, effort errors, etc. I’ve never seen a team that peaked so spectacularly crash in this way. The Sox will be sellers, but as someone else noted here, they’re selling junk parts now. Outside of Xander and Devers, every dealable player has dropped in value tremendously over the last two weeks

Not really realistic to go even 5-6

Not many players lose a tremendous amount of value in just 2 weeks, unless an injury is involved.

Vaz is gaining value.

Kike has been hurt forever.

Nate has come back but sucked, so maybe he has lost the most.

Wacha and Hill will be on the IL at the deadline.

Strahm has sucked for more than 2 weeks.

JD being hurt doesn’t help.

Some of these guys were not likely to get us much, but I’m hopeful Bloom will do well- like Pivetta & Seabold and not Potts, Wallace and others.

Those are great choices from deep in the dumpster bin. Cazales was a good pitcher who I recall beat the Yankees one day with his pitching and a big HR over the wall to complete a sweep. Delock was a mid 50s steady member of the rotation.

Casales was probably my favorite player. I likely heard that game, but don't remember it specifically. Ike Delock? Can't remember much. Just that he had a damn cool name.

Players on the IL can be often are traded at the deadline. Schwarber last year, for example…

Quite disappointing today in all aspects. First off Vladdy should have been plunked from the s*** from yesterday's game. This team is too soft and just let's everyone walk all over them.

Yes, but their return value is affected.

The Red Sox were not the only team to swept at home after entering the weekend with a winning record.:(

If the Sox tank, I hope at least the M's can get into the playoffs for you.

That was quite the blooper reel for just half a month. Reminded of the Yanks from last season.

It's pretty comical.
