To send a message: either find some plate discipline or be prepared to sit a lot.

Should part of this message include Cora taking over 1b?

Also, I don’t think sending him to his room without any supper is appropriate for plate discipline, especially against a very tough albeit struggling pitcher…

That might be the closest thing to a positive comment I’ve ever seen you make.

It’s still not one. It’s still pretty negative. But I think it’s the closest…

Here's one for you: intentionally blank

There are options at 1B.

If this was the only time BD had zero plate discipline it would be ok.

But it’s a recurring problem and he isn’t paying attention.

Sitting him would get his attention.

Except Angel Hernandez!

Angel Hernandez does not suck. There is no adjective that can describe his ineptitude.

The other thing is most umps are decent on the bases. Hernandez is absurdly horrible at all facets of umpiring (although I think he does a decent job of accepting the line-up cards before the game).

If they didn't have Angel there would be no definition of incompetent although Laz Diaz comes close.

He sued MLB for not being picked to work the PO's. The nerve of the guy.
