Chicago; Saturday, 7:15 p.m. EDT

PITCHING PROBABLES: Red Sox: Josh Winckowski (3-1, 3.60 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 13 strikeouts); Cubs: Alec Mills (0-1, 9.87 ERA, 1.73 WHIP, 10 strikeouts)

Let's hope Cora tries to win today and keeps Robles on the bench.

If I didn't have family in town I would make the trip to Chicago to see it in person. Lots of Sox fans will be in Wrigley today! Go Sox!

I will be one of them! Section 216. Probably 30-40 rows or so directly behind home plate. Made the trek from Beantown

If Robles pitches again this season it’s intentionally not giving a rip if we win or lose by this GM

Just in case you didn't know, the GM doesn't make the call to the bullpen

Cubs fans are crazy. True story, one time at Wrigley, the entire crowd gave me a standing ovation when I came out of the bathroom.

Okay, Andre Dawson had just hit his 3rd homer of the game, but it could have been for me. Maybe?

We need you guys in the bullpen thread! We've been debating this very point.

Wrigley is a great park. Gotta love the fans across the street. Wrigley and Fenway seem about equal in weirdness and charm.

I always thought Cora was exceptional, but never realized he didn't want to win games. Thanks for the insight.

Time for Bogey to start swinging the bat.

1 HR in the last 6 weeks and no RBIs since June 16th

Cora talked to him earlier in the season and convinced him HR's are just not needed. He might strike out going for the fences. See the OP: Cora is managing this team to lose.

Good to hear Duran has completed his “research”.

He probably did relook his rationale and realized it wasn't rational.

He doesn’t want to win the games that Robles pitches in, and that seems pretty clear.

In RBI situations in the last month his ABs have been awful.

A mixture of weak ground balls, pop ups and strike outs.

Hopefully Houck and Sale can also just get the shot.

I doubt either will do it. The A-S break would be the perfect time to do so to allow for any soreness. Sale will not on the theory that he's contrary anyway and they can pitch around him in late September. it's always Chris first, last and always.

Maybe one of the veterans or coaches took him aside and told Duran to WTFU.

Tough to win when the #3 and #4 guys aren't driving in runs

Devers makes another bad decision with a silly throw
