Winckowski puts the Sox in early hole.

Yeah, the Cubs are hitting lasers off of him.

Devers put them in a hole with two errors that inning, one physical on the throw and one mental by failing to cover 3rd on the bouncer to Cordero. It could be argued he made another mental error by playing so deep in the bunt.

He probably did relook his rationale and realized it wasn't rational.

Tough to win when the #3 and #4 guys aren't driving in runs

Maybe one of the veterans or coaches took him aside and told Duran to WTFU.

If Devers keeps s***ing the bed, the SOX won't have to pay so much to keep him.

I love Devers bat, but I hope his big long term contract is calculated on the basis that he is a 1st baseman, not a third baseman

Well, I've defended Bloom and Cora, but no longer. This mess tonight is entirely on them.

First and foremost, those K's by JDM and Bogey with a man on 2d are entirely because Bloom has refused to give them the contracts they deserve. Devers error to put a man on 2b with no out? Same deal.

And where does Cora get the idea that this rookie pitcher--I mean the name Winckowski says it all--should be starting ahead of Sale, who didn't need another start in Portland? Sale never would have given up those soft rollers down the 3b line and would have easily fielded one of them.

My eyes have been opened. It is obvious the Sox players, who have 2 hits and no runs--while the Cubs have no hits and 2 runs--simply don't care. And it's absolutely not their fault just as none of their stinking play last night was their fault.

This team continues to embarrassed itself. Maybe they should become sellers at this point. That’s what ownership is selling. The future.

No energy from this club. The cubs look like the ones that are above 500 right now.

You apparently skipped last night's game thread. Even though just 1 of 5 Sox pitchers did well, Cora never should have used four of them (or should have pulled Hill when he insisted he was unhurt, etc). The lineup scoring just 1 run--after that flaky rally, built on a walk and an HBP in the 2d inning--for the last 7 innings? Cora's fault. JBJ's double in the 2d? All JBJ. Sawamura's good relief job? All Sawamura.

In fact, I think they should have a player's meeting to figure out how to win games while combatting Cora's ongoing effort to sabotage this team.

If that's the case, then maybe the SOX farm should start grooming Mayer as a 3rd baseman.

Is it so difficult for this team to show up against a lousy cubs team?

We are a lousy team too .you expect to win with a catcher hitting 156 who has no business in MLB at this stage a first baseman who’s a backup player at best and JBJ a fading skills Defensive player who is horrific with a bat ? A starter who at best is a number 5 on most teams ? A bullpen with Robles getting important innings ? A 3b who is literally giving the other team an extra base ? A second baseman who can’t hit a fast ball now ? A SS who hasn’t hit for Power all year ? We are a very flawed team tonight .

2-3-4 go 1-2-3 against a bum.

Bogey has hit the ball hard twice …..

Winckowski seems to be showing that he could compete for a back end starting role in 2023. He'll get bumped in '22 if Eovaldi, Sale and Whitlock ever heal or if Paxton gets on a mound. Or for '22 you could put in in the BP to replace the soon to be DFA'ed Robles

I don’t know if Story is just cooked .Story has been bad for awhile now .Did Chaim Bloom just strap the Redsox with another Panda catastrophe contract ? Half a season now and Story is horrific
