Maybe the guy on OTM hit the nail on the head. Maybe Henry and Bloom have a pact that Bloom gets 5 years to bring a plan to fruition. But of course they can't tell the fans that. It would explain a few things.

I tell you the harm: Hamilton has a lot of letters that would have to be tackle-twilled to a Red Sox jersey. Every letter must cost a couple bucks apiece. Just think of the savings for Bloom every time he recalls Ort.

Then he should have protected Ward instead!!!!

The idea that the Sox let a few 30 something (and in a couple cases, very injury-prone) free agents go and they got hot elsewhere is hardly Bloom’s biggest mistake.

This whole Hamilton situation is just ridiculous. Hamilton gets protected over Ward, probably the Sox most MLB-ready pitching prospect before the season. Not only do we see far too many games of Hernandez flummoxing around the infield, but Hamilton - whom it was so important to keep - tears up AAA and is left there in the minors. Meanwhile, the Sox keep trotting out Enmanuel Valdez and his specially designed glove with 5 thumbs and keep leaving Kike at SS. And then because Ward is in Washington, trot out a 32yo career minor league/multiple Asian league veteran with an 88mph fastball to join the rotation.

Letting go of aging players who go on a hot streak can be just bad luck. But the promotions and non-promotions on this team are the real questionable moves…

Lmfao!

Your finally seeing the light !

It started with a “once in a generation talent” in Betts shown the door, since Oh Henry can’t fire himself, but it will end with this clown named Bloom being sh!t canned!

It’s a F###ing circus ain’t it boys?

Kike back at SS tonight with Arroyo at 2B.

Hey Red, don’t forget the 32 year old Beer Leaguer starting the game

Lmfao!

What a complete circus

Another dumpster dive by a once proud Ownership but hey there’s always NFL OTA’s to pass the time

Hey John, Fire this incompetent clown you have running baseball ops before the Trade deadline!

Actually the Betts trade has worked out pretty well considering the Sox were never going to be able to sign him and they acquired two starters…

Connor Wong is still small sample size and he is hitting about .230 right now.

Hell of a decision to sign a 32 year old bum pitcher in Matt Dermony who is trending on Twitter for all his anti gay tweets and for liking and supporting multiple racist tweets. Awesome. Glad that guy was willingly signed and let start in the MLB

He is 100% right. This was a well deserved loss last night, and the Red Sox EMBARRASSINGLY threw the white flag, before, during, and after the game . There is no way to sugarcoat this. JH, Bloom, and Cora are all to blame.

I remember a year, or so ago a well respected poster on here said we got Cora, and we got Bloom. Like that was to give the Red Sox an advantage over everyone else. Does anyone still think that is true today?

BTW--if the Sox lose tonight their record since Bloom took over will stand at 225-222 overalmost 3.5 years of his regime.

At this point he's had plenty of time to the turn the ship and hasn't. And honestly it does not look good for the near future either.

What's the basis for your belief that the Sox were never going to be able to sign him?

A lot of finger pointing today. Most are straight up in the air, with the back of fists aimed at the dugout and front office. But maybe the blame is really on...

... us: Red Sox fans. We're so invested, we type daily about a baseball club, even for half of every year when they're not playing.

We still follow them, even when they suck -- which has been 75% of the entire Chaim Bloom Era. Fans of other annual last place teams usually abandon ship until a rebuild puts them back in contention.

Red Sox fans, however, are addicted to baseball, and Fenway, and NESN, and absolutely deserve to complain when the product on the field is crap, and the politicians employed by the franchise continually tell us what we're seeing is only part of a means to a beginning. But still we watch, hoping they're not actually lying.

Getting into the playoffs in 2021 and knocking off the Yankees and Rays had a lot to do with that thinking.

Definitely trending down hard since then.

I still think Cora is a good manager, but Bloom hasn't been giving him much to work with. But I can understand why Cora is taking lots of flak too, because the team is playing sloppy and last night's use of Kluber was a debacle.

"A means to a beginning" - that is excellent. This is why I come here.

That Dombrowski couldn’t get it done. Next question…

I think the Red Sox have sunk In status to the #4 team in Boston, and it always hasn’t been that way. I said a few weeks ago the Red Sox were still on the back burner, because of the Bruins, and Celtics in the playoffs, and while both have been bounced there is still some residue effects leftover from the Celtics, but outside of that the Red Sox are now front, and center. After last nights debacle I’m not sure that’s a good thing.

Point? Mookie was leaving after 2020. He wouldn’t sign and turn the money was spent on Bogaerts and Sale.

Most superstar trades yield very little. The Marlins traded back-to-back MVPs for Starlin Castro and a slew of MiLB players. The Orioles traded Manny Machado for Dean Kremer and scraps. The Marlins dealt Miguel Cabrera for BA top ten prospects who peaked at setup guy (albeit top tier and that took time) and a journeyman OF.

They were never getting back another Mookie. They were in Salvage Mode…

No it hasn't. Because of that blunder and all the other blunders we had to settle for Devers who's half the player Betts is.

IMHO both Dombrowski and Bloom are entirely blameless in Mookie's departure. JH drew a financial line in the sand. Mookie said himself if he got the Dodgers offer from the Sox he would have taken it. Maybe Mookie was just being politically correct, but there's no evidence to contradict what he said...

Devers would be better player but he is still too immature. He needs a strong big brother presence around him such as Bogaerts. Xander 's departure has adversely affected Devers play IMO
