Yes...but I think most agreed that Suzuki was legit. Given the choice, I'd gone with Suzuki locked up for 5 years.

Sour Cherries picked for Suzuki:

First 9 games 1.503 OPS 4 HR

Last 27 games .600 OPS 0 HR

Thanks for the update.....maybe we're lucky we didn't commit $85M.

@redsoxstats

Trevor Story has figured out playing second base. In May, he is the leader among second basemen in outs above average at +3, runs prevented at +3, and success rate at 92%.

Honestly, keeping him at 2b long term isn't a bad idea as he gets older.

Seiya Suzuki was removed from Thursday's game against the Reds due to an apparent injury.

Suzuki looked to jam his left hand on an awkward play at second base in the top of the third inning, though he initially stayed in the game after a chat with a trainer and then got lifted with the Cubs trailing 10-3 leading into the bottom of the fourth.

In a perfect world, we'd be able to re-sign Bogaerts and Devers to reasonable deals and have most of our infield set for several years.

If you think of the most reasonable (and realistic) deals imaginable, what would we have left over to fill the other holes we have?

Oh, it's not happening. Not unless the Red Sox go crazy, which I can't see.
