Seabold pitching the game of his life today!

7 innings 3 hits, zero runs, zero walks and 7 strikeouts.

He's had some other similar games, but yes, nice to see!

E Valdez is starting to heat up (2-4 w BB).

Northcut did something very rare for him. 1 Hr and 2 singles!

Binelas with a 2B and BB.

Kavadas w 2 BB and 2 Ks. (0-3) .753 at AA.

Hamilton with his 60th SB on the season!

Wikelman pitched well for GRE (4IP 3H 1 ER 2BB 8Ks)

Lugo remains red hot (3-5).

Ferguson (Vas trade) 1-2 w 2B & 2 BB

Rosier (Vaz trade) 2-5 w 2B

Salem completed the full Red Sox sweep night (5 wins- 0 losses)

Paulino 2-5 w 2B

Romero, Bonaci and Meidroth all with 2 hits (Bonaci w a BB)

The farm is shaping up nicely as the season nears its end.

I'm not disagreeing, because I do think they would not have called up Bello, had there not been so many injuries and fizzle outs by those they tried before him, but just a quick question- no malice intended:

Do you think every prospect who looks awful out of the gate was rushed?

No. Bello is still pretty young, and no matter how Casas turns out he hasn’t been rushed.

Yes, but 23 is not all that young, and he joined the farm in 2018 and had 118 IP in 2019.

The missed COVID season set everyone back, so it's a close call on the age thing.

I might be biased, but it looks like some of the big hits against him were on very nice pitches. (Maybe they weren't as nice as they looked on TV, but my eye test tells be he's pitching pretty well, despite the enormous ERA. Maybe, and I stress the word "maybe," this was a good learning experience, and it was still worth it. I sincerely doubt his ego has been shattered or deflated.

No, 23 is not that young in age, but missing 2020 hurt his progress. Needs more consistency.

Agreed, but he was very consistent in AAA and had a .559 OPS Against in 96 IP. No pitcher in the whole system had a better OPSA with more than 51 IP, yet we called up several prospects before him. including Winckowski, who just turned 24 in June.

23 is still pretty young, he will also be 23 to start next season. Bello advanced at least a level each season he's been in the system, actually two levels his first year, two his 3rd year, and 3 this year. He signed at 18, two years older than the typical IFA prospect and missed an entire year due to covid. All things considered, he's flown through the system. He also struggled, not a lot but a little at Portland when he first arrived in 2021 then he adjusted quickly and became dominant. His stuff has ticked up and improved every year he's been in the system.

Given a clean bill of health, he could be a regular in the rotation at some point next season.

He jumped 3 levels, this year? He was at AA in 2021.

Let me correct myself, he's pitched at three levels this year. He started the season in Portland.

Posted
Yes. he did. Not uncommon.

Jumping from AA to the majors in one season isn’t rare, but I wouldn’t say it’s common either.

If Bello looks like garbage at the end of next year I’ll start to be concerned. Start.

I think we get spoiled with the likes of Devers and Betts and we forget that most guys don’t bust into the bigs as phenoms at 21, Bello isn’t going to be that level of good. But I think he has a very good chance of being a #3

Take a guy like Lester, he busted into the bigs at 22, but he didn’t become a staple above average pitcher in the rotation until his 3rd season at 24.

Bellow should be fine. Time will tell

From the beginning of the season that's the jump. Wong jumped 3, Lugo 2 spots, and Perales 4 from the last update. So those guys are still moving up. The biggest droppers were Connor Seabold down 12 spots and Gilberto Jiminez down 13

Joey Meneses has 33 hits in his first 25 @MLB games.

That’s the most by any rookie through his first 25 games in Nationals history.

Why can’t we find guys like this?

At Worcester, cassas with his 11th tater of the season tonight. If only he could hit left handed pitching. He might be in Boston tonight.

Castellaneous with his 5th tater of the season tonight.

V Santos with an interesting line: 5 IP 4H 0ER 5BB 4K. Keller came in and walked 3 in 1.2.

Walks are the theme of the night. So far, Drohan has 4 BBs in 3.1 IP, but the Sea Dogs have score 8 on 8 BBs and just 4 hits. Of course Kavadas has a BB.

I hope Larry doesn't get mad at me, but Kavadas has walked twice, so far, tonight.

Ward has K'd 10 in 5 IP, 5 H, 1BB, 1 ER

So does that give him 98 on the season? That is mind numbing.
