What does Cordero need to do to be called up for another chance?

(I'm not saying I think the time is now. I'm just wondering.)

Definitely a situation to keep monitoring.

My question is why does Cordero seem to lose his confidence and hit so poorly in Boston. Yet he is really confident and hits well in Worcester!

I'm not sure we can judge him on just 2021, although most of us thought he got more than enough opportunities, last year.

The way Fitzy is playing, Cordero might not ever get another chance like '21 with the Sox.

Fitzgerald’s path might depend on aruaz and how he swings the bat.

Of course either is only an unfortunate injury or hit batsman away from Fenway.

I mean, just look at his MLB numbers from the 2nd half last year. He seems to be a AAAA guy.

But, Fitzy can play OF, even CF.

No player should be solely judged on one season, especially with scattered 136 PAs in MLB.

He his .931 in 334 PAs at AAA, last year, and is on fire, early this year.

I'm not arguing to call him up. I was just wondering about him getting another chance.

Will it take an injury to an OF'er or JD?

There were several impressive performances on the day, with five shutout innings from Brandon Walter leading the way. A 26th-round pick in the 2019 draft, Walter has had a meteoric rise from outside the top 60 into the top 10 in just one year. The 2021 SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Year is off to another great start in 2022 as his stock continues to trend up.

It's going to be interesting watching this Portland pitching squad this year.

Yes, and Binelas, who is also on the hot list.

If Hamilton somehow develops some pop, that's a fringe major leaguer right now. He was known for his speed and his fielding with a lagging bat. If that bat catches up, it could get interesting.

Bloom has found many a gem from under-the-radar prospects and fringe players. Let's hope Hamilton and or Binelas continue his legacy.

After the first series of the season Hamilton is hitting .500 with two taters, 7 RBI’s and 4 stolen bases. (Ops is 1.915)

The speed is legit. We will have to wait and see on the bat and defense.

Crazy that Fizty has started even better! (Except for the SBs)

Bradley and Hernandez have a combined batting average of zero!

Brutal!

Citing small sample sizes is too.

Oh wait, I do it, too!

Last year Bradley hit .163, I think.

Right now that must seem like mt Everest to him!

I'm not trying to defend JBJ, here. I did not like the trade.

I'm not expecting a big bounce back from him or even a moderate one. I was hoping for some improvement over 2021, but I also know 2020 was not that long ago either, and selectively choosing specific samples sizes to suit our cases, does not always do justice to a player. (I do it, too.)

What is scary is if you go back and include the short 2020 season, where JBJ did well, he's still at .595 since the start of 2020!

.661 since 2019

.678 since 2018

.689 since 2017

We may see his career OPS dip below .700, this year.
