Greinke most likely.

Soft tosser.

Just the sort of guy who can give the Sox fits.

OTOH, he’s hardly pitched at all since the end of August (11 2/3 innings), so how sharp will he be?

Don't worry yet, but tomorrow's game starts 0-0.

Just talking about this game. I know this series is a long way from over. Sox have to keep the pedal to the metal. If Astros win tomorrow or Thursday, they go back to Houson and that crowd can get behind the Astros. Don't want it to go to Houston.

One game at a time. Houston is a very good team despite their awful pitching lately.

Sure but my opinion was beyond my fandom. This team looks like a legit WS contender team right now.

Well the pivotal game four is coming up. It’s either all tied up or we take a commanding 3-1 lead. I always say that game four is quite telling in a seven game series.

Seems like he has been awful reason why he was relegated of their rotation. On paper sounds like another slugfest for Boston.

If I’m Cora I do everything in my hands to win tomo. A 3-1 series is practically a WS ticket.

Forget the actual score, Robles and Perez walk the leadoff guy, but get the DP's behind them. Sawamura gives up two should a been hits and defense snags them

Makes you wonder who is orchestrating this one

Pitching is still the name of the game. Can our pitching hold them? The top of the order went 2 for 16 tonight. That’s key!!!

The Sox have potentially 3 more games at Fenway this year. They need to win 2 of them to be in the WS. I'm holding a 15-1 ticket on them bought in mid September. Like my chances now

3 more games in Fenway? How do you figure? They only have 2 left in this series after tonight. So unless they win this series they only have 2 at Fenway left. If they win this series then they would obviously have more

You are right,I was thinking of the former 2-2-1-1-1 mixed with the 2-3-2 format. Shouldn't have had that celebratory drink too early

Agreed, plus he’s never pitched particularly well in or against Boston. Of course, you never know what Pivetta will bring in a given game either.

The Astros could bring back Valdez on short rest (ala ERod against Tampa) since he had a very short outing last time.

Greinke announced as starter tomorrow.

Word here is it will be a pen game, but I guess if Greinke does well, they'll leave him in.

Dusty is def rolling the dice. Greinke hasn’t pitched in a while. Should be very interesting. When Zack is on he can be dominant but we’ll see.

Not many choices.

The last 2 games may have been the two most worry free games of the season. Very enjoyable.

So true.

We might have had 2 blowouts in a row during the season, but if we did it must have been long ago.

Props to ERod, who stepped up and set the pace. I didn't have a problem with him tapping his wrist watch after retiring Correa, who was actually smiling about it in postgame interviews.

One thing never discussed is Cora's relationships with the Houston players after they threw him under the bus in the MLB investigation. Some still see the Astros as villains, who got no consequences except for public ridicule. But who knows whether all participants involved discussed roles with each other and are now at peace with their past. Cora didn't have a problem recruiting Marwin this season... or cutting him.

Well the stros are just that but they’re a very good ball team. Hopefully we can take a stranglehold of the series tonight. Need to continue to hold them offensively with the pitching and get the hitting again.
