However, I thought your comment about Perez was related to the postseason roster, not next year's roster.

 

I've made a few comments about Perez.

 

One was about not needing him as the 13th roster slot on a playoff roster with so many days off. We have plenty of other shaky pitchers we can give mop up inning to.

 

One was about Bloom's spending $10M on Richards and $6M on Perez, and about him needing to make better choices with signing FA pitchers, next year. (Andriese and Sawamura were not any better.)

You got me there, pard. If it's between those two, it's a tough choice. I like Schwarber way, way more than ERod, but pitching is the biggest need, especially if one is nervous about Sale, as I am.

 

 

I might be oversimplifying things, but it may very well come down to Bloom needing to choose between trying to keep ERod or trying to keep Schwarber.

 

If we bring back both, there might be almost no money left to fill 3 open pitching slots and the utility infielder position.

Eovaldi's "they aren't high on my list" comment is blander than my sister's mashed potatoes. I don't know how anyone could be offended by that.

 

And you know Nate wasn't starting anything, just trying to end some reporter's attempts at baiting him for a good sidebar.
