They got one on Sunday. I don't disagree with the point you're making, but unless one series is on the west coast (i.e. the NLDS), the series that gets more primetime games will be the one that they deem to be "better TV"

Which is dumb

So it does look like it will be H-Town. They are up 7-1 last time I checked and the White Sox just look overmatched.

2018 revisited. They will be looking for revenge. Bring it on I say.

Let’s play some ball!

First time an AL team made the ALCS 5 years in row.

Wonder if they found a new way to cheat.

Wouldn't want to enter the ALCS with tricks Cora still knows.

People said that about the Patriots. They weren't entirely wrong, but that's a story for another day.

Wrong about what exactly? I don’t wanna get into specifics but they never gained any advantage during spygate. Deflate-gate was a witch-hunt.

I been one of cora’s biggest critics at times but the guy’s a heck of a manager who gives a s***.

Not telling you what to do, but try taking the long view next time you feel like basing Cora.

That's your opinion, not fact.

I should also throw in trespassing onto the roof of the Bengals' stadium that one day to get game film. All I'm saying is they haven't had the best moral compass under Belichick. Have they done anything outright illegal? No. Have they gamed the system? More than anybody else, you could argue. I bet Gruden wishes that was all he did

I can't remember the last time I connected "moral compass" to a player or coach. They are in it for the bucks, period. At every level of coaching, the focus is on getting performance out of the players, which means pushing them hard. Morality is irrelevant even though I have met with one NFL coach whose moral compass is quite good. There are no doubt other coaches like him, but morality is not a prerequisite for coaching success.

They can change their roster before the start of any new series.

I wonder if they reconsider any players for the ALCS. The two I would wonder about are Swamamura and D-Hern vs perhaps a Barnes,, who seems pretty far off his game.

I like Sawamura more than Hernandez or Barnes, but I think Barnes gets in because of what he has done overall for this team, plus he just signed a lucrative 2 year extension.

According to the results of the regular season, the SOX have already beaten the best team in the AL. With that being said I believe the SOX should have a pretty good shot at beating the 2nd best team.

Usually matchups are more important then seasons record when it comes to success in the post season. The Astros have a solid offensive club that may give us more problems than the Rays did and we were closely matched with the Rays.

I think the Rays were better than the Astros, plus they were the returning AL champs. Plus the Sox so far have had the best postseason hitting (OPS) and pitching (ERA) of all the postseason AL teams.

That said, the Astros looked awfully good against the White Sox. I like our lineup more, also the way Cora handles the pitching.

I didn't say other teams, players, or coaches were on a moral high ground, I simply said that the morality of the Patriots organization has been called into question on multiple occasions over the last two decades. If it is a widespread problem across the league, to which I agree with your statement that it is, that doesn't make it okay.

I'm a Patriots fan, so don't get any false ideas about where my allegiances lie. I just simply pointed out how the Patriots are a prime example of how people like to accuse foul play and cheating when a team has sustained success. We were doing that earlier in the thread when somebody mentioned how the Astros have made 5 straight ALCS appearances, so they must be cheating again. I guess I just poked the bear a little bit too much for those of you who can't stand anybody saying anything bad about your team, but then go out every single night in the game threads and calling for every Red Sox pitcher to be sent to the gallows when he walks one batter, or gives up 1 run.

Change Barnes to Perez, and I’m listening.

The NFL is loaded with guys who have committed crimes. Sometimes violent crimes. They are still in the league. And being cheered. I think the Sox will beat the Astros . But if they don't , you can be sure there will be accusations of cheating. That's just how it is.
