Speaking of COVID, my school is swamped with cases. We had 12 out of 92 teachers out, Monday. (9 without subs, as wants low sub pay during a pandemic?)

So I volunteered to cover a class during my conference period, and then I got sick Monday night. I missed today and thought maybe I had Covid. Low grade fever, chills, whole body ached and then severe congestion. (Maybe that's why I've been grumpy... LOL)

I got tested today; no Covid!

I'm on antibiotics.

I was vaccined back in Jan & Feb. I wear a mask everywhere with people.

Now, I have a cough and some aches with PND, but feel a bit better.

Ahhh a Moon apologists lol .place has become truly a joke .Moon literally attacks 80 percent of my posts he’s a blow hard know it all who gets things wrong quite often .I don’t like the type person who looks at this place like his private moon sanctuary .I won’t ever like the guy but I don’t attack unless I’m attacked .You see I’m actually a lifer Redsox Fan I went to games in the 70s 80s 90s 00s 10s .i don’t need to kiss his ass your ass or anyone’s here .I will continue to come here though but much much less thanks to my threatened ban for life .If I get banned f*** it who cares .

You attacked just about every Sox player, coach and manager, ceaselessly. I defended them like I think a true fan should, at least most of the time. You went way overboard.

Yes, I pushed some buttons and condescended. I even threw in a little passive aggressiveness. I'm not perfect and am no angel. There's no "but" coming.

I own my mistakes and admit to as many as I can and know about.

I'm sorry for lashing out at you and others.

Now, I'll throw in some condescension: I hope some of you take great solace in being right about the Sox ending, this year.

Whatever. Not sure why I took you off ignore, but back you go.

Meanwhile, you really need to chill out.

Don’t bother answering, I won’t see it.

It’s funny how this team is struggling when the Yankees are struggling as well. Joke

At least we are helping the Rays extend their lead against the Yankees. Thus, something good is coming out of these losses. If I'm not mistaken, the Rays are done with the Orioles while the Yankees have six games left with the Orioles.

But Gov DickSantis in Florida still wants to penalize school boards that mandate masks all the while pointing at BIG Brother from DC for telling people what to do. Really Governor.

Tell me folks, given the number of kids and people that DO wear masks where are the people being hospitalized or even seen by doctors for health complications due to mask wearing? I know where they are....NOWHERE because there aren't any and if there are, it is such a small number as to be statistically microscopic!

The last two posters mentioned vaccines and masks, which are being used worldwide -- but not always in the Red Sox clubhouse or dugout.

Trying to prevent the spread of a deadly pandemic has nothing to do with politics.

The DickSantis line kinda does.

Don't worry, I'm not here to stir up those old flames.

You're right, I saw the nickname but it just didn't faze me. Maybe it's because we're a board of nicknames, and I'm more disturbed by watching a Sox team featuring 5 Mold Gloves.

A Red Sox season that was once so promising is going to hell in stages. COVID is applying the coup de grace.

I'd rather it happen in August than September.

But guys like us won't let history reconstruct the '21 Sox' self-destruction based on some virus.

At least they don't boo the fans like the Mets' players. Baez is a bust and Lindor has struggled all summer -- and his 10-year contract doesn't begin until next year.

Great line by Bob Nightengale: "Only the Mets would miss the days of 2020 when no fans were permitted into the ballpark during the COVID-19 pandemic, preventing anyone from booing them."

Pneumonia is spreading rapidly in FL. Lots of cases from people testing negative with COVID. My HR director has been in sedation on a ventilator for 12 straight days. No COVID.

I don't think Baez understands what this does to his long term value. I don't know what is going on with Lindor, but I'm glad we didn't bring him here. Seeing that Pillar was part of this nonsense, it's not surprising that Bloom didn't bring him back. He was cheap and filled a need. As usual, Bloom has more info on these guys than all of us combined.

Ya the numbers are outrageous in my province as well. 80 percent are people that don’t want the vaccine.

Funny, they still want the free health care Canada provides when they get sick though. Regardless…. It will be on going forever because a big part of the population doesn’t want the vaccine which fair enough. I won’t argue it. I wish we were done with this s*** but we likely never will

After all, the government wants to control us lol!!! I have a friend that thinks the government wants to control us.

Yup, good old Tyler eating a large pizza in his grey gitch swearing at the Red Sox. The government aches to follow my life lmao!!

I'd be skeptical of the 'no-Covid' claim. Anyone who has been looking at the figures realizes that FL has been fudging its data (check the ratio of cases/deaths and compare with the ratio from every other state). An article about this also just appeared ... maybe in CNN?

What's the benefit to his wife saying he doesn't have COVID? We could actually get some payroll tax credits if we could use his time as COVID time. He's out of PTO so he won't be paid going forward. If he had COVID, he would get paid. It seems weird to say that I should be skeptical of someone on a ventilator that doesn't have COVID.

There's a lot of nasty s*** going here around that isn't COVID. My daughter spiked a fever over the weekend. No COVID. Her tests came back negative for everything. RSV has been rampant in the infant class at our kids' school. A lot of people here are getting pneumonia without a positive COVID test. COVID is no joke, but there's lots of other stuff running around right now too.

I realize that FL has fudged the numbers for political purposes. I know people here both vaccinated and unvaccinated that have gotten COVID. One of my wife's friends got COVID and was on a ventilator. He developed double pneumonia. He lost 20 pounds while in the hospital and he was a big dude who did strongman competitions. It's scary as hell. After getting discharged from the hospital, he had to go back a few days later due to blood clots. Now he's sitting at home doing breathing exercises. His big goal is to be able to hold his breath for 10 seconds at a time. He can barely do that. It's f***ed up.

Anyway, get vaccinated everyone. Wear a mask. Don't run around doing whatever you feel like regardless of your vaccination status.

Agree 100%. (I was referring only to the state's official claim.).

So does anybody know what the state of COVID play was on the Sox before they were struck with the current surge?

Last I knew, they were one of the few remaining teams that had not met the 85% vaccinated threshold from the league yet I saw very little to no masking going on just before they were struck with this COVID surge. Whereas earlier you could clearly see masking on the bench. Is that about how this is playing out?

Maybe just knowing they were going to Florida made them all just give up on any precautions.
