Did Ecks just say “Sale has never thrown 100?”

WHAT!!! He used to do that every other pitch. What is he talking about???

Since 2015 he has not averaged higher than 95.2 MPH with his fastball. I don't think he was throwing 100mph every other pitch.

Vaz gives up another HR with his pitch call

Let's say the catcher calls for a curve and it hangs over the plate; is it the catcher's bad call? Can we please sometimes give blame to the pitcher? Also, when a pitcher misses the target by a foot, whose fault is that?

He said “have we ever” I know he hasn’t because he hasn’t played in two years and the third year his elbow was starting to go but I thought early in his career he was throwing 100 quite often but guess makes sense for Eck to say that. He personally hasn’t seen it for the Sox then.

As late as August, 2019 Sale was throwing many pitches at 100mph. In fact, Eck was in the booth when he threw 5 of them against the Yankems.

i remember going to an afternoon game at Fenway. It was either 2017or 2018 and his second pitch of the game was 100. He was hitting 100 pretty regularly that game. I remember it because it surprised me that he started off like that with his second pitch. I remember texting my son about it while I was at the game.

I didn’t ask what his average was. Ok maybe I’m wrong with the every other pitch but Eck has certainly seen him throw 100 mph. He made a silly comment haha

Ethyl chloride. My guess is they stopped using it because, while it did ease pain, it also masked real injuries.

Yep, ethyl chloride. That was it. I couldn’t remember the name. It was standard practice for years.

My bad; youtube screwed me up. The last time Sale threw over 100 mph was in June of 2019. 100.3 to be exact.

They are hitting Sale fairly hard. I expect him to go 5 today. Our offense needs to score a few more to keep Baltimore behind us. Still nice to see Sale out there.

I was wrong about August 2019, which I've just posted.

Ya but Eck still would have seen that. I didn’t think he threw 100 because his elbow was starting to go. When he first came to Boston he threw 100, quite often.

All-in-all, a pretty good game by Sale.

70 pitches- 47 strikes.

He hit 95 a couple time, I think.

The dinger was not good, but I'm glad to see him back.

His presence in the clubhouse has to give us a big boost, too.

2 guys off the wrist. Hate to see that. Lopez was not intending to do it and helped Kie to get up. Not sure if I have seen that before. Still should Sale drill an Oriole?

No. They are a lousy team; let sleeping dogs lie.

Billy Bob Thornton would be the perfect manager for the O's. He would just sit in the corner of the dugout with his whiskey in a Coke can and stay drunk.

If you were the manager of the Orioles, isn’t that what you would do?

This Orioles roster is seriously one of worst I’ve ever seen. Mullins and Mancini are the only players worth mentioning

There is a third M- Means.
