So another theory. This one is really simple. Vazquez is overrated as a catcher, and Plawecki knows what he is doing behind the plate.

That would work but the rotation was fairly decent through the first 90-95 games or so and Vaz caught an awful lot of those.

Excellent pitching by Pivetta; SOX lose and the toilet spiraling continues.

Double trouble today. Turbo flushing the season. Oh well, it was a lot of fun until August. Thanks for all the help, Bloom. Amber Schwarber can hit a bunch of HRs for us after we are safely positioned in 4th place.

Great call Cora, you dickhead. Pivetta has only thrown 76 pitches and got Guererro out 3 times.

This was a game that could be won.

Nothing wrong with bringing Barnes in there. Sox had a golden opportunity in the top of the 6th to put a crooked number up on the board and the top of the line-up totally pissed it away.

Despise whom you want; I do. But the simple fact is the Jays are better than the SOX in every facet of the game, except maybe the BP.

two hits will not a win make.

Cora got more out of this group than anyone. Eventually pumpkins become pumpkins.

Yep, and Bloom’s lack of effort is being immediately and precipitously rewarded.

Posted
of course not, that’s Why Bloom got us a hitter who will not be here until we are in 4th place.

You have no idea what efforts were made nor of any restrictions Henry put on him. Personally, I think he was handcuffed by JH, but that’s just my opinion/speculation.

The only sure thing is that no one here knows.

True. But I just don't like Vazquez.

Funny, when the SOX were winning and the Yankems weren't, you very rarely showed up. That you're showing up now must be a coincidence.

Oh, and your condescending posts are tiresome.

Yes, they did piss it away, which I mentioned at the time. The fact remains that Pivetta was going great guns, and I personally wanted him on the mound in the 7th. And, yes, I do know that Cora know ten times as much as I do. I'm just mad because this game was in fact winnable.

The truth is that I could not care less about Matt Barnes and his abilities or lack thereof . He's having a nice season, even made the A-S game. The problem now is that your team needs an outstanding effort to pick itself up. Pivetta gave that outcome. The position players did not take advantage of that effort and Matt just threw water all over it with one pitch.

Barnes has made it clear that he likes to get ahead in the count with a first pitch strike. While that is a good plan , sometimes you can get ambushed . You don't want to get too predictable.

The Sox overachieved in the first half. Nobody really expected them to be anywhere near first place, let alone in it.

Another clear indication that there is not enough pitching and not even enough solid everyday players to spread around this many MLB teams.....wasn't this the largest trade deadline dump of all-stars and ex all-stars in history? In other words most teams had to consolidate good players from around the league to really have a shot. What did we do.....Schwarber on his exercise bike and a couple of relief arms.

This team deserved to be rewarded for its first half efforts. A hitter that could have stepped right in and an actual starter would have been much preferred.

I thought the Sox might regress to a .450 club going forward. Not a.200 club

Lol!

Still, We are going to win the division.

Save this post. Please.

That's a fair statement , Max. My feelings for Matt Barnes are right there---Just don't like him, never did. Some players just don't have enough ability to be dislikable , you wonder how they got there in the first place.

If it was Henry putting the clamps on, I hope he's enjoying what he's seeing now.

It remains somewhat incredible that the entire team including bench guys go into a deep slump at the same time and stay there for a couple weeks. It is possible that Covid runs rampant through this clubhouse and worsens the mess.

What we do know is what was brought in and that it is woefully inadequate. Are we winning and I am missing all the fun? I don’t think so.
