We're facing a lefty and have Perez on the mound.

I'm hoping for more timely hits and continued power showings, tonight.

Keep the mojo risin'.

Thanks for the reminder--this is a Thursday afternoon game and starts at 1:10.

Looks like we are stuck with Marwin until Arroyo returns.

Makes me wish we still had Chavis.

It's choosing between different shades of Titanic deck chairs. But Marwin has slightly better numbers.

If Sale gets the start on 8/12 vs the Rays , and can follow through as part of a 5 man rotation , he will get 9 starts through September. Let's say that improves the Sox by 5 to 6 winning games over the same starts if it were Richards or Perez.

I am OK with this lineup and batting order. I don't know why Plawecki gets so little time. He has not been s*** out there when he plays and Vaz plays too much. Frankly if it were not for day game following night game I am pretty sure Vaz would be out there again today.

Perez, like almost all Sox starters, loves to go out in the first inning with the intent to "establish his authority" with his fastball. After getting pounded, he then agrees to go with breaking balls, especially changeups to righty hitters.

Some culpability also resides with Plawecki.

New nickname for Verdugo---Rollo, as in rollover the ball and pull the outside pitch to the right side in the form of a weak ground ball

He should go to left field more. He can do it.

0-2 count. Wonder what will happen?

I would have bet the farm he would strike out. He might end up being a decent MLB player but he has to make more contact.

Come on Bobby D.

Never saw anyone so consistent at coming out of the dugout down 0-2 , and goes downhill from there. At first , it seemed he just needed to see more MLB pitching but he doesn't seem to be improving

Perez pounded in the 1st and lucky to give up just 1 run. Dalbec strikes out, looking clueless yet again, with 2 men on and 2 out in the 2d.

Right now he is just a rally killer. Bring up Munoz.

Casas will be the first baseman for the Red Sox next year.
