It's to a point where I'm not even surprised anymore that by the time the first inning is over they are already losing. I know they have a lot of comeback wins but if they keep putting themselves in this position they are going to have more losses than comeback wins

Agreed. They have done it all year and will continue to do so. It’s frustrating but it’s normal now

They've had the lead after one as much as they've been behind. Exactly even at 17 each.

They need Sale and other reinforcements. This crew just doesn’t have what it takes.

They need a stopper and that won't be Sale this year even if he comes back. If he comes back does he start? If he starts the chance of him making all his starts are slim and none IMO.

Every team loses games and even loses in streaks. Without a stopper you can lose 4 in a row just like that. I don't care how many you can win in a row, if you can lose 4 in a row I just don't think you belong in the top tier of MLB.

Thats it. Headed off to my future son-in-laws graduation party. The anticipation is killing me. It should at least he more exciting than this has been.

The simple fact that Ryan Weber's slopball is your long relief tells you all you need to know. I contend that this is a .500 team that had a nice 9 game streak early on and now is showing the weakness of the pitching staff.

I contend that you are correct.

Lets see...

Kike continues to thrive in #1 spot. No one, no one has explained to me what harm will our #2-#6 do batting #1-#5. I only care who bats in front of me.

Santana continues to march towards sub .100 avg. Now batting .111.

For awhile I was thinking about what would be the moves in late July if the Sox were still within 4 or 5 games of first contending for a WC position. No need to think too much more. Trade the veterans like Renfroe for a low A pitching prospect , and bring up a couple guys from WooSox to show them the postgame meal spread at MLB level..

The Rays lost 4 in a row in early April. They've aslo lost 3 in a row two times and 4 out of 5 two times- one not part of the 3 in a row subset.

The CWS have not lost 4 in a row and only lost 3 straight once and 4 of 5 once (part of the 3 straight subset).

The A's started the season losing 6 straight and have lost 3 straight and 4 of 5 a couple times each.

The Astros lost 6 straight and 9 out of 10. They lost 4 straight another time and 3 straight tow other times.

SF has only lost 3 straight once.

LAD has 4 straight once and has lost 3 straight three time and had one stretch going 4-14. Much worse than anything we have done.

I'd keep the two year plus players and think about trading the 4 month players, if this losing continues.

ERod

Barnes

Ottavino

Marwin

I wouldn't want to trade Barnes.

I don't want to either, but if we are 7 down by the deadline, he's the guy who would bring back the most.

If Bloom wants a good starting pitcher, he's going to have to trade one of the top 4 hitters. The only one that makes sense is JD.

The only team that would trade for JD is a contender. What contender can spare a good starting pitcher mid season?

Maybe a pitching prospect, but not a proven good SP'er.

Definitely, but I'd rather trade JD than Barnes.

Me, too, but at his cost, we would not get nearly as much as with Barnes.

Barnes's contract is a plus.

Good point. Looks like the SOX are screwed.
