I'll be less than a mile from Fenway for a good chunk of this game. Absolutely gorgeous day to bring your portable radio to the park and listen to a baseball game. I'll also be going for a run. Not just going to take the T into the city for the sake of listening to a ballgame.

Great news: Bogey's back.

Not so great news: Devers sitting after scorching the ball over the last week-several for outs, Kike still leading off and Santana at 1B.

1. Kike CF

2. Dugo LF

3. JD DH

4. Bogey SS

5. Renfroe RF

6. Arroyo 2B

7. Dalbec 3B

8. Plawecki C

9. Santana 1B

(Plawecki has been hitting better than Vaz, so maybe we get a plus, there.)

Whether the SOX make the PO's or not, they will be the most well-rested team when the season ends.

LOL.

The thing is, I felt the eraly rest might be a good idea, so we can use these guys more later in the year, but as I recall, Cora rested guys in August & September, too.

It worked in 2018, so who is to say it's a bad strategy?

Everything worked for Cora in 2018. A repeat of that happening again is slim and none.

My biggest worry coming into the season was pitching. I was pleasantly surprised how the starters began the season, but it’s becoming clear a lot of these guys were pitching over their heads.

Perez regressing to mediocrity.

Now, with the announcement that the umps will be inspecting pitchers for foreign substances, our starters are likely to start performing to their career pig standards.

The starting pitching has been pathetic. Just a joke.

Except that they carried us up until about a week or three ago.

The Starters are either wild early in games or wild in the strike zone in games. Against these better hitting teams you just cannot be wild in the Strike Zone early like they have been. No need to worry about the 3rd time through the order when they are pitching like this. Hitters this good are going to get them right from jump street.

They can get away with wild in strike zone when playing teams that are just not hitting. Won't work with the Astros or the Jays or anybody else with real live hitters.

All over the place. Now they are failing and failing hard. Not even giving us a chance in these games

With saying that. Astros and Jays are the number one and number two offense in the league, but still

Nice comeback inning. Time to find something else to do this afternoon. Going to see the Sox next weekend in KC. Praying that Perez does not pitch when I go.

Last 24 games we are nearly a ERA of 6.00. That is atrocious.

Toronto is 0-0 at home this year, so far.
